5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2011

We stayed on a Friday evening 1 night only as we were picking up a cruise ship Saturday morning .
We have stayed at many Premier Inns and know what to expect .
West quay is very good , check inn was perfect and assisted by excellent staff all helpful and smiling.
Room was very clean ,and bed as always with premier , very comfortable .
we used the restaurant for evening meal and found it excellent service and well cooked food.
Once again staff very friendly helpful .
A good nights sleep was followed by an excellent buffet breakfast to the usual premier standard and again the staff were helpful and explained how buffet system worked .
After an excellent stay we departed on our cruise . The hotel is well situated for the cruise terminals being just around corner from gate 8 . One can , if not much luggage walk to terminals ,but taxi from Hotel is approx £4 June 2011 prices .
I look forward to another stay in near future. Thank you to all the staff you run a excellent clean hotel .

I booked a meal deal for myself & my friend at this Premier Inn for 1 night as it was handy for the docks & the reviews were very good. From when we first stepped into this Hotel we were made to feel so welcome & cannot fault anything about the place!
The evening meal was 1st class, the Service by Ciara was fantastic! the breakfast was as good as any 4 or 5 star hotel & the staff could not have been more friendly & cheerful
& we have to say a big thank-you to Amanda who is amazing!!! We will not stay anywhere
else now when we come back to Southampton, which hopefully will be soon!

We stayed for 2 nights in early June. Main purpose was a visit/tour of a P&O Cruise ship . The hotel had only been open a few weeks but seemd to have no teething problems. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfats was excellent and despite being busy didnt take long to be seated or queue for the buffet. No car park so either £5 per day in multi story or overnight free close by.

Room Tip: All rooms much the same .

I Needed a hotel whilst away for the night with work, all of the hotels in Portsmouth were fully booked or far too expensive so I stayed here at the new Premier inn Southampton West Quay.
When you book a Premier Inn you know what you are getting and this one did not disappoint.
I paid £81 pounds for the room which included the Meal deal which includes a 3 course evening meal with the first drink and full English Buffet Breakfast.
On arrival at the hotel it was very apparent that there was no car parking just a drop off area which was disappointing, Premier inn have struck a deal with the West Quay Shopping Mall next door to the hotel and you can park there for 24 hours at a cost of £5, the reception will validate your ticket before paying at the machine. The parking structure is also secure as they lock all of the doors at 22.30 reopening the next morning at 05.30.
Check in is now using one of the new machines and very easy and quick, assistance is available by the receptionist if required there are 2 lifts (one was out of action) in the lobby and also 3 vending machines for drinks and snacks.
My room was number 510 and I was the first to use it so everything was new, the room had air conditioning and the window opened about 5 inches if fresh air was needed, TV with free view, desk area, wifi At a cost, Tea & Coffee, Hair drier and bathroom with bath & Shower lastly the bed was so comfortable and I had a great nights sleep.
The evening meal was very good and excellent value for money with friendly staff.
The area has something for everyone – Shopping, History, Red Funnel terminal, Cruise Ship Terminal and Leisure centre across the road.
On my next visit to Portsmouth I think I will defiantly stay here again

The hotel had only recently opened for business so all decor and furniture nice and new.

Really comfy beds. We were in a big twin room which had space for one double and one single bed.

Had a peaceful nights sleep.

Staff all very friendly.

Breakfast was very good also. With them publishing the breakfast menu on the website you know exactly what you will be able to have in advance.

Public parking was available just across the road from the hotel which was free overnight, with charges starting from 8am onwards.

This hotel was of a far superior standard to a 4* hotel that I recently stayed in and, at about 60% of the cost, it represents great value.
