“Lovely rooms, clean and well run”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

The Blue Keys provided a really comfortable room and great hospitality for my night there. It seems a smart place to go even if you're not staying there with a good menu, better than average bar selection and pleasant surroundings. Its about a 15-20 minute walk into town if you want more. Breakfast was good but made to order/on request. Personally I prefer a selection of cereals, juices, yoghurts and fruit to pick from rather than having to place my order very specifically which is why I've marked them down from 'excellent'. Despite that the cooked element of breakfast was good and precisely what I asked for but it could have been so easy to give that bit more.

The beds are extremely comfortable, the food is excellent - especially the Sunday roast! I always get a warm and friendly welcome and will go back again and again. I highly recommend attending the Sunday jazz roast :)

Stayed for one Sunday night. Staff were very genuinely helpful and friendly without any false politeness. A particular thanks to Clare who we mainly dealt with. Room was clean, comfortable and well presented. We booked the Sunday Lunch which was excellent, as was breakfast. Free parking is available and there was live music on the day of our visit.
Would recommend this hotel. Suggest you book direct.

We arrived an hour later than planned at 11pm, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Although there isn't a lift, they carried our heavy bags up to the top floor and looked after them the next morning.
Our twin room was very comfortable, the shower room was clean. We were in the Attic room at the front, and there was no street noise that disturbed us.
Breakfast was filling and very tasty - would like to come back sometime and try the Sunday Roast!

Booked this hotel after trawling the net and looked at all that was on offer in and around Southampton. Our friends the Moule's had booked this hotel as they were going on a cruise the following day and we wanted to surprise them by turning up to see them off! We are so glad we booked this hotel, as the location was good; the staff warm; polite; welcoming and the food was excellent and good value for money. The prices were good; the rooms & bathrooms very clean and the beds were very comfy. Cannot fault this little gem and would certainly stay there again.

We stayed at The Blue Keys Hotel for 5 nights, it was very nice, staff nice and friendly very welcoming. The first night we were put into room 9 which was a nice room the bathroom was ok the only problem is if you are taller then 5 ft 8 you would find the shower a bit tight on head room. The next 4 nights we were in room 8 which is really nice and comfortable the bathroom is so good the shower was the best. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm you are able to control the heating. The breakfast every day was cooked fresh and you had a good choice I need a gluten free diet and they catered for that by having gluten free bread. We would stay there again good value for money, if you have problems with stairs mention when booking otherwise you may find yourself needing to walk up 4 flights of stairs. Would recommend this hotel to family and friends who would like that personal touch.
