Went to this hotel due to a night booked in Southampton. Got in room pretty small dirty sick still on the bed!!! Fuses blew only two of the four lights worked. Woke up to be covered in bites have come up in a severe allergy. Breakfast no yoghurts half was put away by half 9 even though was meant to be till ten. The eggs hard no choice even though u pay an extra ten pound for this no mushrooms very basic one sausage one bacon half a whole tomato hard egg. The sausage smelt off and tasted worse couldn't even swallow just overall horrible stay and suffering today with inflammation from the bites. Would never stay there again

So 13 of us went to stay at this "hotel" for a friends birthday night out, 6 double and 1 single room. The first impression was the lift was tiny which apparently can fit 5 people in, more like 2. I stayed In the single which the carpet was warn down, and over took by the bathroom which could off been smaller.
Majority of us got bitten by things. One of the double rooms the bed was broken so they got the last room left which was like a family room with a sofa bed.
We thought it was a good idea to upgrade for breakfast when we book. £10 per room so as a single room i had to pay on my own. The breakfast wasn't even worth £4 when 3 of us only got 1 sausage the rest got 2 but when I asked for some ketchup I got dismissed the first time, and the second person brought me out ketchup.
We did inform the reception that we had been bitten and she took down the room numbers like they were only gonna deal with those rooms. So to be honest wouldn't be such a big deal if it was only £25 for the room, so yes over priced!!

I booked this hotel two months beforehand and only booked it because there was a swimming pool & sauna in it. On arrival the first thing that hit us was the musty smell in reception. I was surprised at the room as it was large, bright and clean even though very out dated. Breakfast next morning was fine for my husband, cereal & fry but I have food allergies so just had fry which contained one slice of bacon & half a tomato. I was just about to ask for more when the person behind us ordered his breakfast to be told that there was no bacon left. When we went to seek out the pool & sauna there was no water in the pool & notice to say sauna was only in use from 4pm. When I queried this at reception I was told that the pool was out of action for some time. We were never told this on booking or at a later date. This hotel was very expensive just for B&B with no facilities. Also lift is tiny - only room for 2 people & 2 cases at a push. Wouldn't recommend it at all. Just as well we were only staying for one night otherwise we would have moved hotels.

16 of us stayed for 1 night for a hen party. Foyer smelt old and musty. The room I was in was dark, very worn with knocks and scratches all over the walls, had two very tiny single beds with the most pathetic cheap looking white (ish) linen, and no working lightbulbs in the bathroom. Visited the room of a friend who was staying in on a different floor and it was like it was in a different hotel....very bright and fresh!! Obviously only some of the rooms had recently had make overs. All 16 of us were LOCKED OUT of the hotel @ 1am after returning from our night out!!! Took almost an hour of banging the doors, pressing the buzzer and phoning before a night porter let us in....he had clearly been asleep as seemed surprised when we said we'd been trying to get in for so long!!!! And almost worst of all.....one of our poor ladies who was in a room on her own had 2 men enter her room with their key card @ 4AM!! They were apologetic and left immediately but this should NEVER have been allowed to happen. Stay away from this diabolical hotel.

Think twice before you book this hotel. It was the worst bed I've seen in years, worn and supersoft. Had a double room with 2 separate small beds some sort of a table in the middle. Room was just big enough to fit these beds and 2 suitcases. It's screaming for an update as well as the entire hotel/elevator/reception. Pieces of cookies and other rubbish on the floor and nothing was really clean.

No WiFi on the rooms.

Room Tip: Look for something else in Southampton

We stayed in the Bridal Suite for one night & it was amazing from start to finish. The room was superb & had a balcony overlooking the city & the park which was very romantic. Check-in was excellent with the receptionist offering us a very warm welcome. We had drinks in the well stocked bar & then sat outside in the outdoor seating area which is rather nice. The Hotel was fully booked so were lucky to get a room especially as it was my partners birthday treat! Bryan Williams the General Manager promised us a great stay & he & his team certainly did that. We had breakfast in the morning & were spoilt for choice. We recommend the cooked breakfast! The hotel is in an excellent location with all the shops & bars minutes away yet it is not too noisy as it has a massive park between it & the city centre. We cant wait to go back!
A final point, I work in the hospitality industry & have looked at alot of the reviews on here for the Southampton Park Hotel. The hotel does not advertise that it has a swimming pool or its own car park (there is plenty of car parks minutes away). If you encounter a problem speak to the staff & give them the opportortunity to put things right. They cant fix things if you dont bring it to their attention. Lastly, Have a good stay at the Southampton Park Hotel like we did!!

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony! Its amazing.

Dear Gary

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on trip advisor about your rent stay.

Its nice to find people making the time to post a positive review here as most people only bother if they have got something to have a gripe about. As you have mentioned in your comments alot of people don’t take the time to advise a hotel of a problem so they can put it right at the time.

The room you stayed in is quite special and popular by our regular customers and I will pass on your positive comment to the whole team at the hotel.

Gary we look forward to welcoming you, and friends and family back to the hotel in the future.

Kind personal regards

Bryan Williams
