“Relaxing and quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

As expected the room was clean and comfy. We booked a family room as we were visiting the Historic Dockyards and surrounding area for the weekend. The check in was unfortunately slow as we had to wait an hour in reception as our room had not been cleaned due to staff problems. Apologies were made but it was a bit of a set back as we were tired from our journey on the busy motorway.

Beds were comfy, tea making facilities were very welcomed but as a previous post mentioned the wash basin was in the family room and not in the bathroom! Tv was small but the air conditioning worked well and we all had a very quiet peaceful nights sleep. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of cereal, fruit, yogurts, toast, tea, coffee etc and a lovey hot buffet.
Port Solent marina was a ten minute walk away where there were many restaurants to chose from and a beautiful view of the yachts moored there.

We are regular visitors to Premier Inns and would book again.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the front would be a quieter option.

Very helpful and polite staff, very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Beds were all made up which is helpful. Like the additional touch during the school holidays of a room designated to keeping little ones entertained. Onsite restaurant is very good, both breakfast and dinner were great.

Visited Portsmouth for the Historic Dockyards and this Premier Inn was spot on for our visit. Everything you would expect from this group, clean, tidy and accessible with the added delights of Pizza Hut, KFC, and others near the hotel if you wanted a change with the kids. About 15 minutes from the Dockyards so our visit to the Mary Rose was easily accomplished. Whilst in the area a trip to the Spinnaker is worth while if you like heights!

Would recommed this Premier Inn in preference to the one next door. Check was nice and easy the receptionist pleasant. She reminded us that breakfast could be purchased in the morning if required and did not push us to book there and then. The only thing is that the overflow car park could do with being completed.
The room was a family room for three of us and nice and spaceous. They had air condition here and if required a trouser press.
The hotel has four floors and each floor is accesable by stairs or a lift.
The hotel is easy to access from the motorway. Portmouth and the attractions in the surrounding area are close by and sign posted well.
If you do not want to eat at the hotel Pizza Hut and Kentucky are walking distance.

Room Tip: Book Early if you want to get a cheap deal. As we knew that we would not be cancelling we also did...

Lovely big room and very comfortable.
Very efficient check in and check out. Had dinner in the hotel and this was good.

I think it is rather antiquated to not have complimentary wi fi in a hotel especially one for travellers.

Large tesco express opposite the hotel too.

Very convenient for the ferry

Room Tip: We had no complaints about the room. We had o noise and no worries but by the quality of the Recepti...

On checking we experienced some issues with the receptionists language skills. Very difficult to communicate with. In general the hotel was OK but the temperature was far too high. People were checking out with their families at 530am as it was so hot. The reception team did not address the issue at all.

We arrived on a Friday afternoon, a long journey from the North West and were really pleased when we arrived and checked in. Everything was first rate. We normally stop over in Travelodges when we travel, but after this experience we will always pay a little more and book in at Premier Inns. The reception staff were great, the family room we asked for was great, spacious, lovely shower, really comfy beds, including two full size beds for our children which is a rarity in budget hotels. The breakfast was lovely, including the staff on hand and the check out was swift. A great nights sleep before a great holiday. Well done Premier Inn Port Solent.

Room Tip: Family rooms are really spacious and quiet at the end of the hotel.
