“Needs a good lick of seasoning!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Exceptional service, extremely clean, prompt food and delicious milkshakes. Unfortunately, the food we had just didn't taste of anything. The Southern fried chicken tasted like greasy boiled chicken and left a nasty taste in my mouth, didn't seem to have any seasoning and neither did the onion rings. Perhaps it was the oil they were fried in. My jacket potato was too hard and the sour cream perhaps from a jar? Tasted strange. My son enjoyed his burger and fries though. Such a shame as it all looked lovely even though the portions were way too big for a lunch time. The best thing on my plate was the side salad with mustard dressing! We will give it another go and hopefully the chef will have taken note of feedback as the service and milkshakes were outstanding.

“Absolutely shocking. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

We were deceived by what we thought was a nicely presented american diner with an enticing menu (reason for the 1/5). After sitting at our table for at least 10 minutes with no menu, we ordered drinks which then took forever to arrive. We ordered a jug of tap water with our drinks and weren't given any glasses so we then had to ask for those as well. By the time we ordered our food we were already losing motivation to stay as we had been sitting there for some time without any attention from the staff (the restaurant was more or less empty). Two out of four of us ordered starters which took forever to arrive and when they finally did they came alongside the main courses which completely defeats the point of ordering a starter in the first place. I had calamari which was luke warm and soggy but edible, my friend had chicken wings which looked like regurgitated dog food and the 'BBQ sauce' was salty and gloopy- honestly had better from a cheap pizza takeaway. For the main courses, three of us ordered pizzas, the waitress messed up our order and brought a salad instead of one of the pizzas and the two that did arrive wouldn't be enough to feed a small child. One of the pizzas was supposed to have courgettes on it but they were no where to be seen and the 'fresh' prawns on it were the size of ants and had clearly been sitting in a freezer since the restaurant first opened. The other pizza was pepperoni and cost £10, the frozen pizzas at Iceland are 1000 times nicer and take 10 minutes rather than 40. We didn't bother asking for the pizza they had forgotten as I was not willing to spend £11 on a doughy pizza you'd serve at a children's party. The staff were unbelievably rude, we felt awkward about complaining at first and tried to mention a couple of things in a nice way but the attitudes of the waiting staff were comical. The male waiter was a sulky teenager with a serious attitude problem and when we tried to discuss our issues with him he raised his voice at us and walked away saying that we would have to pay for anything we had eaten regardless of the fact it wasn't what it said on the menu. Once we had asked to speak to a manager or chef, we waited a further 20 minutes before we were told there was no one else we could speak to. All in all, the staff were a bunch of sulky teenagers with evidently no work experience and not a personality between them. When trying to reason with them about taking the chicken wings and the pizza we never even ate off the bill they were being purposefully unhelpful and rude. We didn't pay for either in the end. The food was unbelievably basic and overpriced beyond belief. Wouldn't go back there for anything- save yourself the time and the money.

“Great deal, friendly service and clean modern interior”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013 via mobile

Had a deal for 2 courses for £15 for two from Deal Monster and was a little apprehensive having read some bad reviews. Located in Southsea high street we were pleasantly surprised at the interior. Clean modern, black red and white interior. Very friendly helpful staff and tasty food. Would go back again if in area.

“The steak and pizza are priceless...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

It's an extremely clean and well maintained restaurant. The food is delicious and comes in huge portions, their milkshakes are mind blowing, especially the chocolate brownie. I loved the music but it might bot be for everyone. The service was by far the best feature and in particular a pretty young waitredd named Imogen.

“Pizza was good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

Went on a Groupon £14 for 2 pizzas and 2 glasses of wine. No choice on the wine, which was promptly delivered to the table.

The waitress was new so service was disjointed (asking about extras after leaving the table with our order) but our food was all correct.

The chilli chips were bland, beef and veg but no chilli flavour. The chips were also bland and a little undercooked for my liking. The mozzarella sticks and salsa were lovely. The pizza choice was great, hard to choose, and were lovely and fresh when served.

The place was empty when we visited on a Monday night. The decor hasn't changed much since the previous owners so it is still has a retro American diner feel to it.
