Owner description: Just a short journey from our convenient Mainland ports, at Lymington and Portsmouth, you can reach the Isle of Wight in only 40 minutes by car ferry, or just over 20 minutes by catamaran. There really is no easier way to cross the water. But we're more than simply a ferry company... we make it possible for millions of holidaymakers to enjoy the Island - and there really is something for everyone. From the rugged coastline of West Wight, and thatched villages of Old Shanklin and Godshill, to the regal splendour of Seaview, Cowes and Ventnor. Wherever you choose to go on the Island, rest assured you'll arrive in the hands of one of the most flexible and friendliest ferry operators in the UK. Our customer service is unrivalled. You'll always find a smiling face onboard each of our 48,000 crossings each year. Day or night...there is always room to breathe.

“Very accommodating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Booked for a return from Lymington to Yarmouth. On both occasions we arrived before time and were allowed to cross on the ferry going an hour earlier. Facilities at Lymington were excellent. Ferry was on time and comfortable. Price was included in holiday booking so cannot really comment. Recommended

“Great, hasslefree service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

I went on a day trip to Isle of Wight using portsmouth-fishbourne route. Bought the ticket online, also got a discount using a code (thanks to Trip advisor community). The fare was reasonable as I traveled in early October. The service was great, right from the start when the the ticket bar code was scanned from my phone. The ferry timing was spot on, and on board facility was excellent. The loo was clean, and the lounge was comfy. There were a few vending machines, for coffee etc. The ferry was quite big with nice sun deck. All in all a good service.

“Depends on the Ferry”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

If you want to take your car to the Isle of Wight, this is how you do it.

I've only ever used the Portsmouth-Fishbourne route and have used a few of the ferries. This time we travelled out on the St.Clare, which is really rather nice inside, bearing in mind this service is just a bus on water. It has a Costa, nicer seating and somewhere for my two year old to play.

On the way home we were on the St.Cecilia, which must be an older ferry. It's not so pleasant inside.

They're on time, though. The staff are friendly. At Portsmouth the Ladies toilets were not up to scratch and I would've said something if we weren't about to board.

Hen the kids are older, I think I'd go by Hovercraft, as a foot passenger, and use the Islands public transport.

“Ferry travel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

They don't call this ferry company S**telink for nothing you know
the modern day Dick Turpin this lot
and they know how to rob
they call it ' airline style pricing' fine if you have a choice but there is none of that here
shocking prices
shocking timetable on the Yarmouth to Lymington route
Arrogant staff but then they work for horrible people so it hardly surprising they probably get dumped on everyday !

“Day trip from Portsmouth by car”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Brilliant when booking over the phone as called them as my mum is a blue badge holder and you get discount. The crossing over was excellent. The staff on the ferry made sure that there was enough room for us to get the wheelchair out and put ramps in place. Crossing back was excellent as had the same service as before. All staff friendly and helpful. Crossing was late on way back due to fog but only by about 15-20mins.
