“Would Not Return”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

arrived for a 4 night break, first night we ate sarnies and went to bed as so tired, and next morning went straight out, when we got back with food to cook we found an oven with no baking trays, no handle for the grill pan and no oven gloves, a microwave oven that didnt work, an air dryer filthy and covered in rust, one cupboard so tight it was hard to open and toilet door handle loose, the only heating was an electric fan fire but that seemed to be working on the minimum heat setting .no waste bin or even a door mat to wipe your feet on when entering the van, which seemed to us to be old and tired its obvious a proper check of the caravan and equipment levels had not been made for some time. we couldnt find a checklist, to cap it all on arrival back in the van that evening we found the bathroom floor was soaked from a leaking toilet we considered putting our own towels down to try to dry the area but decided as we would not be able to wash and dry them on the filthy clothes airer, we had no choice but to pack up and go home as we couldnt stay all night in a cold wet caravan, the maintence operator came but was unable to sort out the toilet or microwave......we reported our concerns to him and showed him the filthy airer, and reported our complaints to the office the day after we returned ......to date they have not replied to us.

My advice to you if you are thinking about visiting this site is DO NOT!!

- Toilets are disgusting, drains blocked with hair, the showers are freezing cold with cubicles akin to the the 1930's.

- The caravan we stayed in was absolutely filthy and in a very poor state of affair. Windows and doors wouldn't shut properlt, no light bulbs in some of the lights. Horrendous.

- They WILL CHARGE YOU FOR ELECTRICITY!! £195 per week for two people this is just adding insult to injury.

- You will be sharing the site with travellers, so be ready for random cars coming and going at
random hours blaring their horn out. Also the 'bar' being packed out full of local riff raff.....grim.

They also charge you a pound for getting cashback from the bar.....it seems these people want to take every last penny they can from you, which is false economy and they are essentially damaging the image of Portsmouth as a 'resort'.

GIVE THIS PLACE A WIDE BERTH AND PORTSMOUTH IN GENERAL.....NOT A FRIENDLY PLACE AT ALL.

Room Tip: I would avaid this place at all costs.

Myself and my family stopped in a static caravan VP10.
We was really dreading coming here in fact we nearly didn't I AM SO GLAD WE DID.

Our caravan was clean no mould no dirty toilets. We also had loads of hot water all four of us had showers and we never lost our hot water.

when we arrived at reception we was 1/2 hour early and was expecting to have to wait but no the lady on reception was VERY polite and helpful gave me the keys and directions (NOT AT ALL RUDE). She also stated any probs to let them know and there would be some one there till 8pm and after 8 security would be there till next morning.

The site is ideally located for Portsmouth and all its attractions with easy access to all other routes.
There is not a shop on site but there is a large spar shop less than a 5 min walk around the corner it sells all you need and fish and chip shop net door the fish was lovely.
The beach is accessible from the site and i would imagine beautiful on a summers day.......bit cold for the beach when we stayed.
We did not use the club or eat there so am sorry i can not comment on these.

The parking was next to the caravan on shingle and as we had a lot of rain we did not get bogged down.

We stayed here in a touring caravan over the weekend for the great south run, the location was very good for this only 2 miles from the start line! However the toilets were filthy, there was pooh on the floor and toilets hadn't been cleaned, showers were at least hot but very dated and in need of modernisation,I went to complain but the office was closed at 11am! No shop on site, the bar/restaurant we didn't use but my wife went in to kill some time while she waited for me to do my run and left right away as it was just awfull! The park did the job formula but I would think twice about booking this park I it's a holiday... We had to stay here as it was all we could get last minute!

Can honestly say the worst site i have been on Plot covered in dog mess. Toilets in gents blocked all weekend + mess on toilel floor. shower drains disgusting. Dogs running around barking all night. Very loud abusive foul language arguments coming from other caravans.Cars vans and trucks being driven around the area i was at, fast/wrong way down one way system and all hours. Is this a leisure park or a park for others ??????
The location of this site could be and should be 5 star but i would not give it a one star at the moment Is this the only camp site in the Southsea area???
