“Good, but not as good as it thinks it is .....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014 via mobile

Decent food, but not outstanding..... a bit of a let down after the reviews. Presentation was a bit pretentious - at the expense of content, it seemed. Without a doubt, it's one of the better restaurants in the area, but at £150 for two, I felt the food should have been tastier.

“Wonderful evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

So pleased to have found this place. The service is absolutely excellent - among the best I've ever had. The canapes were lovely as were the starters. My salmon was a bit ordinary but everyone else enjoyed their main courses. The cheese selection was very good and I can't wait to go back.

“Nice restaurant but food a bit disappointing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

We booked this restaurant on the basis of the Trip Advisor reviews. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and was warm and comfortable on a night of dreadful weather outside. The menu is rather limited, but pre-dinner canapés were lovely and our starter (quail) was very good. However, we were both disappointed with our main courses. I ordered the 5 spice cured salmon, which was rather dry and lacking in any spice flavours - it was just a plain bit of salmon. My husband was equally rather underwhelmed with his roast duck. Desserts were Ok, but again no real wow factor. Staff were friendly and attentive, but the overall experience was rather disappointing, especially after the expectations we had from the reviews.

“Superb food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014 via mobile

Went out for a meal tonight at this restaurant. The food was sublime and faultless as well as the service. All waiters and waitresses at this restaurant clearly very experienced and well clued up on every single ingredient of the food in which they serve... rare these days. Well worth the money and would love to go back again. Had the standard 3 course meal along with a pre starter, canapes, homemade poppy seed bread and salted butter, bottle of champagne for the table and a pre dessert. Absoloutly fantastic 5 stars doesnt even do it justice
