“OUR WEDDING”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2011

We have just held our wedding reception at Stattons - we rented the whole hotel for one night - and we can truely say that the relaxed but professional approach by Kevin and his staff made our day fantastic!! The food was excellent, service great and nothing was too much trouble - we cant sing their praises high enough!!

Stayed just the one night at Stattons but will definitely stay there again the next time I'm in the area.

Had an executive double room that was very stylishly appointed and spotlessly clean. Nice touches such as a generous selection of nice shower gels, shampoos etc.

The dining room was also very nice and the staff very good indeed

I took care to check the room I was being allocated before booking as I believe some are better than others but I cannot falut the room we had for the price. Good bathroom, double ended bath in the corner of the room, four poster bed and large Sky TV.

It was quiet at night and althoguh we didn't have a cooked breakfast the breakfast was excellent with loads of good cereals and lots of fresh fruit such as Rasberries, Strawberries, Bluberries etc.

Room Tip: Try and get a good deal on the 4 poster rooms. They are excellent

A well renovated, nicely furnished medium sized "boutique" hotel, close to Southsea seafront. Stattons has a free car park, which is handy as on-street parking is restricted. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and efficient. My single room was well appointed, with an en-suite shower room. Everything I saw in the hotel was spotlessly clean. There were complimentary bottles of shower gel, shampoo, etc. as well as bath and face towels. There was even a face flannel provided and a toilet brush.

The single bed was comfortable but took up most of the tiny bedroom and even obstructed most of the door to the en-suite. The en-suite was also quite cramped, to the extent that it wasn't possible to stand directly in front of the basin because the toilet was in the way.

Only a continental breakfast was included in the room cost. Cooked food was available but cost up to £7.95 extra, depending what you had, so I didn't bother.

Overall it's a good hotel, but I found the lack of space very claustrophobic.

Room Tip: Ask for a larger room.

as we were "double booked" by a website, the receptionist at the other hotel kindly managed to get us booked in this hotel for the night before travelling home on the Ferry. How absolutely pleased I was that she found us this hotel. From the minute Kevin opened the front door to greet me nothing was too much trouble for this young man. As the wife was recovering from surgery I asked him if we could swop rooms to the one on the ground floor. Not a problem. The room was excellent, nice big comfortable king sized bed. Huge flat TV with sky, WiFi available. The place was spotless. Not even dust on the austrian blinds which was a first as those things are really dust traps. Mention must be made of Nick, who looked after us in the evening. a request for an extra duvet was satisfied in minutes, a jug of real milk was provided with a smile. The continental breakfast in the morning was superb, can really recommend the mixed berries and the hot crossiants. This place had really good parking facilities. If you need a place to stay in Portsmouth/Soutsea you really will not be disappointed with a visit to this hotel.

I spent three nights early Nov in a single room. Read the reviews and the hotel lived up to the expectation. Nice room, cleaned everyday. I stayed on the top floor, the room has en-suite shower, tele with sky package. The team managing the property is very kind and helpful. Good parking space. Provides complimentary continental breakfast, you can bring in food if you wish. Free wi-fi was a bonus. The double rooms are far better in decor and space.
No disturbance from other people staying there. I would love to stay there again.
The only change I would like -- the wash basin to be bit wider so that water don't splash out easily.

We've just got back from a 2 night stay at Stattons Hotel. The hotel was beautifully decorated and the room was comfortable and clean with a small en-suite shower room, plenty of wardrobe space and a comfy bed. Breakfast was lovely and fresh and the staff were all extremely helpful and pleasant. There is free car parking, though the car park was a bit tight to get into/out of when full. The location is ideal for Southsea seafront and Portsmouth's Gunwharf Quays and Historic Dockyard are within walking distance.
