Faced with London friends coming down by train to Gloucestershire only for lunch, to celebrate a birthday, the heat was on to find somewhere local--and good and conducive to conversation. Jrools succeeded in all these things--and were up to the standards the visitors from town have come to expect when eating out! With just enough other customers to give the room life--but not anything as much as to impair hearing and conversation or timing of service for that matter--with a quirky old building to add ambience--with a decent menu, good service and all realistically-priced--we had a great time and certainly all the boxes were ticked. We were given the option of eating in their not-quite-landscaped courtyard (it was an unusually nice early-summer weekday) but were glad to sit indoors at a comfortable corner table to enjoy a tasty meal. I would suggest that the only slight minus was the fairly primitive loo which I'm sure is their next project once the yard is fully transformed. I would certainly lunch there again.
