“Welcoming and cosy accommodation that can only be surpassed by the superb food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2009

When we arrived at the Inn we were a little disappointed that it wasn't one of the pretty stone buildings we had become accustomed to in our travels around The Cotswold, but as soon as we stepped inside we discovered a quaint, yet individual and cosy English pub. The painting of the tudor cat hanging on the wall is a gem!

Our room was lovely, the bed very comfortable with crisp white sheets and the ensuite had a very good sized shower, lavender toiletries and large fluffy towels. The only negatives I can find were the omission of a bin and only a small mirror kept in the wardrobe with the hairdrier, wall mounted would have been better.

Now onto the best part. The Food! We had dinner in the restaurant which can only be described as superb! Cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The scallops are a must. Breakfast was included and of the same very high standard My eggs were perfectly poached!

We were lucky enough to find a room at the White Hart when our camping trip was rained off and felt that by sheer chance we happened upon what must be one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. The owner Mandy was incredibly welcoming, in fact all the staff felt like friends within minutes of our arrival, the food was wonderful, the bedroom and bathroom beautiful, comfortable and clean and the public rooms cleverly combine elegance and cosiness. This hotel provide the level of service and accommodation you'd expect from somewhere much more expensive with the comfortable ease of staying in a friend's home.

Fluffy white dressing gowns, original art on the walls, soft feather duvets and piles of magazines and newspapers everywhere. Heaven. We will definitely be back for another visit soon and would recommend the White Hart to anyone.

My wife and I stayed at The White Hart for seven nights in the stag room. The room was large and comfortable with a nice view of the square. The bed was very comfortable.Everything about the room and indeed the Inn was very clean.Breakfast was excellent and meals in the restaurant great. The restaurant has a warm and comfortable ambience with excellent service. The staff at White Hart are very friendly with nothing too much trouble, indeed they really make it a special place.

Having found the White Hart inn through the internet, one is never sure just how good or not the place may be. What we found was an absolute delight. The welcome was friendly and warm but not too formal, and the throughout the weekend the staff (Hamish and Callum especially) were just so helpful and professional. The room was comfortable and the food was great. (Lunches were not required after the hearty breakfasts)
I personally have very high standards and demand the same of those around me; Mandy, Paul and the team at the White Hart certainly have the same ethos. Both Elinor and I hope to return in the near furture and for me this is the highest accolade achieveable. If you don't go to stay there you must go for the food. If you don't you'll certainly regret it.

Just returned from our 1 night stay at The White Hart and yet again had a fabulous time. We were met at reception with a welcome second to none, our bags taken up to our rooms as we were shown up to a lovely very well presented room. The owner was very informative giving us details in our room of the origianl features that sill exist (a monks hiding place!). We ate there that night and the food was outstanding, quite obvious that they have a first class chef and not just a cook!
A totally wonderful stay that was second to none, definately back agian as soon as we can but next time for longer if we can get in!!

I was recommended to stay here by friends and felt compelled to write a review as the owners deserve some good feedback.

I found the Inn to be stylish, welcoming and friendly. The food suited me very well and the chef was great. I could have anything from a cappuccino to a glass of champagne, a piece of freshly baked cake to a beautifully cooked fresh fish.

My room was comfortable, spotless and I slept very well. I look forward to being able to stay again.

Lovely, old and quircky. We were shown to our room called Roe.I was very disappointed as there was a fire escape right outside of the window.(I know this is a legal requirement)We asked to change rooms but this was very small. No tea or coffee making facilities in room.(was told too expensive)No water either. This was remedied but the member of staff who took it left the key in the door,we we were out so left our room open to anyone(my handbag was in the room)The fire escape was used by the staff,so we had no privacy. This same member of staff was extremely rude to me.No hand towel or soap provided.Small bath towels. When we spoke to Mandy, the owner she was very aggresive. We left early.W and E Rowe
