Despite my inherent distaste for chain restaurants, I like the tapas concept and have ventured here on a couple of occasions - most recently at lunchtime with my wife. The decor is not bad, quite stylish in some ways. We choose the lunchtime special menu which was good value for bread and two tapas dishes. Mind you, expensive drinks top the bill up. The pleasant surprise was that the food was excellent - fresh and tasty and adequate portion sizes for lunch. The olive oil for bread dipping was delicious. The service was efficient although not particularly friendly. Overall we enjoyed it and I think La Tasca does offer something a little unique in the town centre.
