“generally very good”

generally very good restaurant, excellent service, nice bar, meat based dishes are always good. The only thing that lets it down is the vegetarian options.

“Very nice little place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

My girlfriend and I went to Moran's Eating House on our first night in Cheltenham. It was a very pleasant evening and the food was perfectly nice. I had one of the specials: pork steak filled with leak and onion in a creamy sauce, my girlfriend had a very nice rump steak. She did say that the steak may have been overcooked for medium rare, but still enjoyed it. Paying extra for vegetables was a bit annoying so we didn't stay for dessert. Good service and good food.

“Needs re vamping”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

The cocktail bar, light snacks and cakes side is okay - if you can manage to raise a smile from any of the staff - but the main restaurant seems to be stuck in a time warp. We had lunch one day and the menu was very limited - lumpy mash and new potatoes with our mains, and a carton of "cream" with the filter coffee - I thought restaurants did away with those years ago in favout of small jugs of milk. At no point were we asked if everything was okay with our food even when we paid. The music seemed to be a Bing Crosby CD - used to go there lots in the mid 80's but wouldn't bother to go back now with all the competition around .

“Well worth a visit”

Fantastic food, scrummy cakes and smiley staff. Perfect for just a little nibble or something more extravagant. I always love coming here! Well worth the trek up the Bath Road :)

“Brilliant...........”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

Food wonderful, drinks pricey but not overly so, continues to be Cheltenham's premier spot for a nice night out/special occasion. You pay a bit more but in return you get great food, good service with a special ambiance.
