“Excellence all round..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

This establishment has everything that the shot gun enthusiast could want. Facilities include over 20 shooting positions, dry paths between positions, easy parking, a well equipped gun shop and a welcoming café. Tuition is available for the absolute beginner to improvers and seasoned shots. All tuition is provided by expert instructors. The action is all self contained and clays are released by a credit card arrangement that not only releases the clays but totals up the number used.. There are generally two clay positions at every stand with options to release either clay independently or both together. A great day out.. Very difficult to suggest any way to improve this set up. Top rate.

“First time - might not be the last!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

Was kindly offered a shooting session thanks to a kind benefactor. None in our "team" had ever held a shotgun before - let alone shot one. Very thorough safety briefing and a full demonstration of the whys and when.

Tuition was courtesy of a very approachable and obviously highly skilled and enthusiastic expert who soon had us all hitting the clays. Very unhurried and lots of back chat and "comments".

The whole location is professionally laid out and even for a bunch of novices we felt that we were given a fantastic introduction to the sport. Just need to save up for another go!

“Well set out, something for everyone”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Well organised & set out, Easy system of card for charging for clays which allows users to pick & choose & go back to the one that needed more practice etc. Clean gravel pathways between stands.
Good parking, lovely gun shop & really nice sausages & bacon in the cafe on Saturdays!

“junior sponsorship at Ian Coley shooting school”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

I had the pleasure to be a Senior Guest/Chauffeur on the 2/Sept/2013,14 juniors were tutored, supported, and coached at Ian Coleys Accadamy day.
There were four Coaches and Ian Coley, this gave each young shooter a bespoke day of tuition, which included an insight into Sports psycology, gun handling, score discipline and mental approach to Clay shooting.
The Colts hung on every word of guidance and the coaches put across there experience in a way that each young shooter were able to absorb and embrace, there faces and the way they carried themselves was a joy to watch and I know all the lads have gone away richer for the experience.
Finally I applaud,Hull Cartridges, Ian,and His Coaches, they contributed their time for free and embraced the day with good heart.
The end product is beyond price for these young people at this stage in there Lives.
Well Done Chris Lynch

“First Class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

Called in today to return as last time it was snowing, but today over 30C ! Great place to shoot with well stocked club house and café supplying everything you need. We did the card system which gives the opportunity to shoot any one of the 20 or so stands as much as you wish. A great selection of targets and very courteous staff, all very professional ensuring the safety of all.
Ian was not around today, but his legacy is paramount of this great shooting ground.
After dedicating most of his life to this fascinating sport and coaching two gold medal Olympians he has now been awarded a very much deserved MBE. I think his staff should now be in line for honours too. Well done, first class.
