“Pleasant enough”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

As previously described: Longworth Villa is well located in a quiet road, close to the railway station. I didn't meet Derryck but Jane was pleasant enough. The room was large and the bed comfortable. Shower was usually hot and my basic breakfast needs were met. WiFi was free so it's a little churlish to mention that it was a trifle slow.

I only have one complaint and that is that the shower room had a huge window - overlooking the road with only a net curtain in it. That meant I could either shower in the dark or outrage passers by. Perhaps the owners would like to address that omission?

Stayed overnight with two friends in triple room. Both Jane and Derryck are lovely hosts and everything about the stay was excellent. The decor reflected the period splendour of the house and the rooms are really spacious with extremly comfortable beds, beautiful bed linen, large ensuite with white fluffy towels. Although the water pressure of shower wasn't great it was adequate and the only toiletries were two little bars of soap, this doesn't detract from the excellent rating. Tea, coffee, biscuits, bottles of still and sparkling water were available and Jane volunteered more milk without us asking for this demonstrating their keeness to be as accomodating as they were. Although check in wasn't till 4.00pm there was no problem leaving our bags in the room and we were given keys for room and front door to come and go as we pleased. Were able to choose breakfast time and the breakfast was great. Hot and nicely cooked bacon, sausage, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, beans, as well as choice of cereal, juice, toast etc and refills of tea, coffee as required. The location of the villa is very accessible for visitors, turn right on exiting train station and is only a five minute walk on left side of road. Longer walk into town centre, probably takes about 15- 20 minutes.Fully recommended and we will definately be back.

From the moment you arrive and see the outside of this beautiful buliding you can guess your in for something special!
i came on my birthday with two friends, and as we stepped over the threshold into Longworth, we stepped into warmth, elegance, comfort and friendliness. the room i was in with a double and single bed was lovely and warm ( a must at this time of year) stylish, and relaxing and with those little extras , umberto hair products, bottle of water, tea and biscuits ,which i feel say a lot about the owners desire to please their guests.
Breakfast was yummy and again in a beautiful room, The owners Jane and Deryck couldnt have been more helpful, charming or genuine.
It's only about 15/20 minutes into the town centre, and only about ten to montpelier. I will definitely be going back and cannot reccomend it highly enough, a real treat.

Room Tip: Both my room and mt friends ahd beautiful rooms, with lovely views

Beautiful house with the most immaculate rooms and nothing was too much trouble, from ordering us taxis' to direction even having breakfast in our room, perfect! The location is spot on for the station and town centre, we will most certainly be going back, can't fault a thing and can't recommend it enough!

I stayed here for a couple of nights. On arrival the welcome was warm and friendly and we were shown to our room. It was large and had all the extras you'd expect from a larger chain, if not more (teas/coffee, fresh milk, biscuits and bottled water). The en suite was quaint as down a couple of stairs but was large and all you would need. The villa is ideally suited for a walk into town and close to all the Monpellier bars and shops. The cooked breakfast was great. Top ingredients and not greasy as some can be. Fresh coffee and tea and orange juice too with toast, cereal and fruit if you want. The breakfast filled us up until very late in the afternoon. Before booking I looked at the Queens hotel but this Place had better reviews and I am glad I stayed. I would definately recommend it

We have just stayed for a lovely weekend at Longworth Villa whilst enjoying the Literature Festival and going to the University open day. The room was very spacious, clean and elegantly presented and the breakfast was cooked perfectly with plenty of choice. Nothing is too much trouble for Jane and Deryck who are very welcoming and friendly and the house is perfectly located to walk into town and making the most of the vibrant night life. We would be very happy to return!

My husband and I have just returned from a weekend break in this beautiful villa. Derick and Jane made us feel very welcome, very hospitable and you would not think the business has only been up and running since June! (well done guys!).
Very quiet and spacious with lovely decor all round. Very convenient position for the town and a pleasant walk. Will definitely stay again for future festival events.
