My husband and I and two friends spent two nights here on a Travelzoo deal.
From the beginning to end of the stay we were very satisfied with the whole experience.
Firstly I must congratulate all the staff on a very positive and welcoming attitude. There was always someone on hand to help - for example carrying cases down short flights of steps - both my husband and my friend's husband walk with sticks so are not able to lift cases. At present the lift is being refurbished so best to ask for a ground floor room if you have similar difficulties.
We also had free parking in the deal and the disabled parking places were very well positioned for access to the hotel.
The rooms were clean, well furnished, with comfortable beds and powerful showers.
The buffet breakfasts were excellent, with a wide choice on offer. A dinner on the second night was included in the Travelzoo deal which comprised of two courses from the set menu - however we were able to chose from the a la carte menu and offset the price of the set menu as the hotel was very flexible and helpful over this. Again the food was excellent and well served.
The grounds of the hotel are very well maintained and because we were so lucky with the weather we were able to enjoy these - sitting on an attractive patio area just outside the hotel bar area.
Included in the deal was access to the gym/swimming pool facilities. These are also used by club members - so a word of advice - don't go down at 7 am when it opens as it is very busy with members using the pool before going to work!
We went down the second day at 7.45 and had the pool almost to ourselves. It is a very clean and reasonably sized pool, with a very good Jacuzzi as well and also a steam room. The hotel thoughtfully provides a swimming costume spin dryer so no dripping swimsuits over the bath as it sometimes the case.
All in all we had a very good time at the hotel and certainly intend to return, particularly as it is so well positioned to visit the many interesting places in the area. It is also opposite the park and ride so one can go into Cheltenham without the problem of trying to find somewhere to park.
