The set menu at about £6, £8 or £10 for 1, 2 or 3 courses respectively (weekdays only) seemed the best value we could see from looking at the other establishments that were open then (6.30pm) so we committed ourselves to eat with worries about the food we might get. Our garlic mushrooms arrived quite quickly and were really delicious, served with some nice crisp salad leaves, cucumber slice, small tomato and some mayo. in a small pot. They collected our plates and asked if we were ready for main course. (so ask for service ASAP if you are in a hurry). The fish and chips (they had a posh name for them) were brilliant. A fairly thin batter but crisp and delicious, a decent amount of petit pois (tiny peas - you could have mushy ones) some delicious fresh hot chips, a section of a lemon and a small pot of tartare sauce. Yummy! The ice cream was good quality, 3 decent scoops with chocolate sauce decoration. Not huge portions but perfect for what we wanted.
