“A very stressful owner.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2011

The b and b didnt really look like i was expecting, Thought the garden was going to be be beautiful but was not, a lot smaller than i thought. On first impressions on meeting the owner, she didnt have that welcoming look to her and not really made you feel as welcome as i had hoped. As soon as you walk into the porch area she tells you to take your shoes off. There was small notices stuck everywhere like playschool! Do this, don't do that, quite inappropriate. She took me to the room and told me that she had just had a new shower cubicle fitted, there was a hole in the front of the shower tray of which she did point out and covered it with a towel, which i thought was fine. My husband had a shower before going out in the evening, and we were met by a grumpy host asking us if we had had a shower, showed us to her living room to point out that it had leaked and had come through her ceiling and down the wall. She asked for our key to checked to see if we had splashed it all around and made puddles in the bathroom, of which we didnt. We were made to feel it was our fault! The same thing happened in the morning when I had taken a shower, and we were given a rollocking as we arrived downstairs. excuse me but I think we paid the full asking price to use the facxilities? She didnt have another room for us to move into, not that it was offered to us. I know things can happen like this, but if she had a different attitude towards her PAYING guests, and made to feel comfortable in her home, then i wouldnt have to write this review.

We stayed at the bella dorma as a last minute thing so was a bit dubious as to what we'd booked but it was all beautiful. Bella Dorma is a lovley cottage b&b run by a very friendly and welcoming lady called jacquie, it was a really relaxed and home from home feel. It was a 5 min walk to the bustling village full of families and children paddling and playing in the little river that runs through. 5 mins from the model village and birdland. Also a very nice home cooked breakfast in the morning. Would recommend to all. Altho jacquie doesnt normally cater for babies under 3 ie. having a high chair and think we were a one off. We took our own travel cot with us for the room but jacquie was fine with this and hope she will have us back soon.

We had an excellent few days in Bourton on the Water staying at the Bella Dorma Bed and Breakfast. Jacquie mein host was extremely welcoming and our room was very tranquil and restful with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was marvellous and we did not need to eat again until evening time. The property was well placed close to the village centre and within easy walking distance of all Bourton has to offer.

This was my parents first time to the english countryside and we could not have found a better place! Jacqui the owner of this very wonderful B&B in the centre of this beautiful village, made us so welcome! The rooms are amazing and so big! The beds are far too comfortable and the breakfast was super tasty and made with a lot of love and attention. We walked to the beautiful upper and lower slaughter, had dinner at the fantastic Rosetree pub and spend another day walking around Bibury. It was one of the best weekends I have ever had with my parents. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to see the Cotswolds: Its a great location and full of sunshine!
