“Great B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

We stayed 2 nights with our dog in February. This is the best B&B we have stayed in. It was spotlessly clean and the extra touches Louise provided were above and beyond. From the mini bar, the replenished biscuits, filtered water and dog bowls and treats, and the excellent breakfasts, we were treated to 5 star service. Hope to return soon. Brilliant value and a real find. Mr and Mrs D, Kent

Room Tip: The Martello Suite with the extra room and large bathroom is a real treat.

Many thanks Mr & Mrs D for sending a review and all your lovely compliments. The Martello Suite is a lovely room - giving you the good sized bathroom and little sitting room just lets you spread out a bit more! We're glad you liked all the little treats etc in your room and pleased you enjoyed the brekky! We're really pleased you want to come back and look forward to seeing you again soon, warmest wishes L & N

I stayed for one night with my partner and our dog Bailey for one night. Wish it could have been longer, such a friendly welcome from Louise and Bailey was made just as welcome with his own bowls. It was spotlessly clean so if you are not dog lovers please don't be put off. Breakfast was one of the best I have had, and we felt that nothing was too much trouble. We hope to return.

Hi there. Thanks for taking the time to review us! We're really glad you had a great time and pleased both of yourselves and Bailey the dog enjoyed the treats and things! We're glad you said about not letting our dog friendliness put you off even if you're not a dog owner - we try REALLY hard to keep things spotless and free of that doggy smell some places can have. We know that if we stayed at a guesthouse, even though we love dogs; we wouldn't want to be hit by that wiff of dogs you can get sometimes! So thank you. I will tell C & R (my housekeeping staff) their cleaning skills are appreciated by myself and guests! Thanks for the compliments about breakfast!! Hope to see you again soon Kind regards L & N

The Silverdale is everything a good B & B should be - welcoming, well-appointed and spotless. And the breakfasts are to die for. THe experience would be hard to equal. It's a real gem - and dog-friendly too.

We spent a night here but wish we could have stayed longer. Can't recommend it enough. Our dog was with us and was treated to her own towel, rug, toy. They even supplied 'poop' bags, Treats and food bowls. The 'extras' in the spotless rooms, e.g. bathrobes, vast varieties of free biscuits, bottled water + coffee + teas etc., plus a fridge with fresh milk and beverages, including wine + spirits available to buy, were more a 5 star hotel standard than this reasonably priced B+B. Breakfast was excellent, as was the service and our hosts were professional but friendly and helpful. Definitely 10 out of 10.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, but if taking a dog the ground floor is best.

Thank you Mrs C and M. We love ten out of ten! We're VERY pleased you had an enjoyable stay and VERY glad you feel we are 5 star standard. We are very appreciative of lovely comments such as yours - it affirms to us that we're "getting it right". It was lovely to meet all three of you and maybe see you again? Glad M's headphones reached you in one piece - you'd be suprised how many people leave things on backs of doors, wardrobes, in bathrooms etc..when they're packing to leave! No harm done!! Warmest wishes L & N

Stayed for one night in November. Room was very spacious and lovely and clean. Facilities were great (bathrobes and a minibar!) and the breakfast was delicious. A really great B&B and we would highly recommend it. Everyone was very friendly.

Many thanks for the praise and thanks for saying you'd recommend us - as cheesey as it sounds it makes us feel great when guests feel so comfortable and enjoy their stays. Above all - You want to know you'll have a warm welcome, comfortable bed and good breakfast when you stay away from home and pay to stay somewhere offering a service - we feel we offer much more and thoroughly enjoy our guests and the fact that they love the little treats and special freebies. We feel we should offer a service that we would feel happy getting too. Hope to see you again. Best wishes L & N

Lovely place to stay with or without dogs. Extremely clean and good facilities in room. I didn't sleep well due to being on the ground floor and people walking past and traffic noise outside (it's on the main road through Seaford) but everything else was excellent. Seaford is a very dog friendly town with lots of places to walk them nearby. I recommend you eat at Della's Italian restaurant - food excellent.

Hello Mrs C. We're pleased your stay was a good one and you enjoyed Seaford. We try to encourage the local places to be dog friendly and luckily there are quite a few but Diella's Restaurant is exceptionally good anyway but it's fantastic of them to let people go and enjoy their food with their dog's with them. I wish more places were more open minded and generous - the places that aren't dog friendly are missing out on a huge amount of business! We are on the main road through Seaford and that can bother some people - we're sorry it spoiled your sleep. We're sorry being on the ground floor didn't suit you; many guests with or without dogs find this room really useful but I suppose it all depends on how heavy a sleeper you are and how noisy people are going past your room. Martello Suite and Cuckmere Haven rooms are usually our quiter rooms if you're sensitive to traffic noise - maybe if you visit again ask about staying in one of those? Once again, we're sorry you didn't sleep well but glad you were pleased with everything else and described it as excellent! Thank you. Kind regards L & N
