Stayed in room number 44. Put feedback in writing rather than give view on check out in the rather open and impersonal reception. That said we weren't asked how our stay was.
While I love the idea of the hotel our main issues were as follows:
-on arrival parking was a nightmare as there was nowhere to stop outside to drop bags. Understand that this is outside the control of the hotel but having to walk up a hill with bags in late pregnancy is not ideal
-When we got to reception it was mayhem. Packed and noisy with no sense of organisation. Our room wasn't ready and we had to wait to check in and drop our bags before heading out. A more personal touch commensurate with the price of the room would be to offer guests a warm drink while they wait rather than adding to the commotion
While the girl that checked us in was v nice the whole experience was impersonal
-When we came back to hotel we were shown to our room, which was pleasant but the walls badly in need of a paint, wifi didn't work and the room was cold, it also proved quite noisy that night
-we booked dinner in the restaurant. The waitress was rude, being pregnant I clearly struggled with the menu as there wasn't much choice after 2 or 3 times of her stalking us to chose, without any help, she remembered to advise that there was a plaice special which I quickly selected and would have earlier had I known. I ordered a virgin Mojita and my other half thought it was the alcohol version so I checked with the waitress and instead of simply switching the drink she begrudgingly checked with the bar. I gave the drink to my other half. This kind of sloppy behaviour is just not acceptable especially if it makes guests feel like an inconvenience
-breakfast was good but as we were early and only ones at breakfast, we had to put up with 2 of the staff behind the Bar area openly flirting with eachother and oblivious to customers. This was amusing to an extent but I can see how the wrong customer would be annoyed
