“A birthday treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

Starters of pate and sprats both extremely good, the sprats were very fresh and well cooked. Mains fish and chips also flounder, again extremely high quality. This restaurant is always very good we have never been disappointed. Service is always very good and even on Tuesday evening in February busy

“Enjoyable evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

The welcome was good although our table was in front of the door which was a bit drafty, so advise requesting a table near the window. Food was of a good standard and well presented, the fish was well cooked and presented, dessert was a bit boring. Service was good. Would go again.

“Good food in a modern setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

We have been to Webbes Wild Mushroom in Westfield and wanted to try this place as we were in Rye. Whilst the food was excellent (my bouillabaisse starter was exceptionally good) I found the setting a little too modern and "open plan" with table too close. We were put near a very noisy table and asked to move. However I have to say that the staff were very accommodating and understanding. No place to have a pre dinner drink and I could not recommend for a romantic meal but otherwise ok. There is fine dining upstairs in the busy season.

“Rye Scallop Week”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

We went to Webbe's on the last day of the Rye Scallop Week. Booking was essential as we had the last table and booked a week in advance. The service was excellent, and the food even better. We both tried the tasting menu, which was 5 courses for just £39 each. Serious value for money, but exquisite food. Certainly gave our compliments to the chef!

Tap water was brought to the table without requesting it, and a large glass of rose wine was £4.20.

I would happily go again even if it was not Scallop week - the normal menu looked equally delicious!

“Great scallop fest menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

We were a noisy party of 10 that thoroughly enjoyed the scallop menu. This is the second year we have done this and I think there were less courses than last year, but for the price it was excellent. Will be going again next year.
