OK, so we're not in Chinatown, still less at the top of the Shard, but if you choose carefully you'll have decent Chinese food at a price that won't make your eyes water. Crispy duck is always good, as are the squid and the scallops, and a vegan friend swears by their fried tofu and vegetables. There's even a Louis Latour Chablis on the wine list at a reasonable (for a restaurant) 25 quid.
The manager is smart, funny and incredibly friendly: no Gerrard Street surliness here.
The last time we were at the Beijing, the place was almost empty, but there was a constant stream of take-out customers; the locals obviously rate the product.
