“Exceptional in every way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

It's very hard to improve on the previous reviews made on here, suffice to say that they are all correct in the level of service and hospitality that Beechwood provides.
Go for yourselves and find out!
Comfortable, relaxing, with every level of detail considered, this is I think the best B&B I have ever stayed in.
I would score Beechwood 10/10 if I could.
Carol and Ceri, thanks so much for making me so welcome, and for sending back my USB that I carelessly left behind.
I'd love to be back and will be at the drop of a hat.

A really classy, comfortable and well-run B&B, well worth paying a little extra for. The rooms are beautiful - spacious, nicely furnished with thoughtful extras like fluffy bathrobes, a mini-fridge and comfortable seating areas with a range of local reading matter.

Breakfast is also a real pleasure, beautifully served with a wide choice including fresh fruit, healthy cereals and smoked salmon.

The professionalism of the owners is illustrated by the fact that on the day we arrived they were coping with a burst water tank pipe in the loft that had led to severe internal flooding, but the quality of their service was unimpaired.

Room Tip: Don't be put off by the thought of having to share a bathroom (some rooms) - the bathroom is a g...

Beechwood is situated in a small village outside Lewes and convenient for Glyndebourne. It does not provide evening meals but there are pubs in walking distance. The rooms are individually decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard (some people might find it a little fussy) and ours were generously sized. Not all are en-suite, though. Breakfast was also superb.

Very hard to fault and fully justifies the reviews it gets here. Everything we wanted in accommodation. Nice touch was real coffee (cafetiere) in the room. Exceptional breakfast choice: loved the baked eggs. Location in East Sussex makes it a good centre for touring. Good quality eating pubs within a short drive. It's on the A22 but we noticed no noise. I was so relaxed that I left my keys in the door.

We were visiting Uckfield to celebrate the marriage of our cousin and the welcome we got only matched the previous positive reviews.

The room was beautiful and spacious with top of the range condiments. The place was generally very well looked after both inside and out. The garden round the front and back were huge which were great views from both the upstairs bathroom (back garden) and the bedroom window (front).

Breakfast proved the icing on the cake with a wonderfully served cooked breakfast fit for a king. Whilst suffering slightly from the effects of the previous night, I was still able to appreciate this breakfast (and cheekily finish off my partners' too!)

Only downside was not having an en-suite in the bedroom but we knew this wasn't going to be part of this particular room beforehand.

Very friendly and would highly recommend to anyone visiting. It's the best ranked B&B for a reason!

Keep up the hard work Carol and Ceri.

Room Tip: If you want en-suite, ask for this upon booking. This is usually subject to availability and is prob...

Extremely well-equipped room, comfortable bed and copious breakfast with lots of choice. It is also very easy to find (and easy to find Glyndbourne from it). Our room faced the road, but although there was some road noise in the morning it was very quiet overnight, even with the window open. Carol and Ceri were the perfect hosts and even came to our recue, well over the call of duty, when we discovered we had left some vital items of clothing behind.
