“Consistently good food, beer and atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2014

I visit the Snowdrop whenever I am in Lewes or nearby for its consistently good beer, food, atmosphere and service. Although slightly off-the-beaten track, the pub rewards the 400 metre walk from Cliffe High Street. There is invariably an interesting selection of predominantly local Real Ales. The menu is extensive and includes both old favourites (The lambs liver and bacon with champ and fresh greens is a particular favourite) and something different including interesting salads and vegetarian dishes. I always look forward to returning to this pub and it never disappoints.

“Almost perfect pub and grub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014

A gem worth the short hike from the High Street and reassuringly down to earth as much of Lewes moves ever 'upmarket'. This place shows that quality food, reasonable prices, great beer and unprententious surroundings are not altogether lost from the town.
A large menu on offer for lunch and lucky to get the last table. 6 real ales on offer too. We had the kedgeree and veggie burger and both were excellent. We did wait 45 minutes for our meal but was in no hurry and the beer was good. Pretty much everything served to those around us looked delicious too. The burger was basil, cashew, cranberry and mushroom, not your usual unimaginative veggie option (of which there were several). Served with plenty of tasty chips, side salad and homeade coleslaw. The kedgeree was pretty much perfect!
Two staff serving/bar duty and clearly pretty busy. Only downside was that the one who served us was clearly too busy to smile, say thanks or show any emotion at all.
Cracking pub, great food, great beer. Will be back.

“Excellent Food with Jazz to Help the Digestion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2014

Excellent good value food, with very good portions (the basket of bread was amazing!) served by very friendly people. We had a young dog with us and the staff not only tolerated it, but also brought it a bowl of water and some dog biscuits! Part way through the evening (a Monday) a live jazz band started to play music which was loud enough without being too loud. We could still have a conversation whilst enjoying the music in the background.

“Would highly recommend this pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

Fantastic food, so much choice.Relaxing atmosphere Lucky find. would definitely go back. A lot of vegetarian choices , more then you'd find in other pubs. I really liked this as it gives you the chance to try something different.
