This was a lovely, human, comfortable hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was not included, but was very good value and delivered to the room without fuss and without extra charge. Full Veggie was well worth the £6.50. They are happy for visitors to bring takeaways to rooms, and even offer crockery to eat it from and cutlery to eat it with. They could not have been more helpful and happily phoned around to find us a decent table at a good restaurant. The view from our room was amazing - if you like to see lapping waves. all in all a perfect base to explore hastings and St Leonards

When arriving at the Hotel the welcome was warm, helpful and friendly. The room was clean and well decorated, the newly re-furbed bathroom lovely, the view was amazing. We stayed for Breakfast, which was well cooked and plentiful (The Best Sausages !!). For a seafront hotel we slept well, small corridors but who stays in in a corridor !!!.
Would definately stay there again xx

Stayed there for the first night of my UK trek. Taking the train in from Gatwick was easy and gave me a good intro to the English countryside. Once in Hastings, the hotel is either a half mile walk straight through town to the beach then hang a right to the pier OR a short taxi ride.

The hotel itself was nice. I'm not sure about all the rooms, but the one I got was on the 2nd floor looking out to the ocean. It had a nice, comfy bed, flat screen tv mounted on the wall, a desk, a pair of chairs and an attached bathroom. The bathroom was very contemporary, along the lines of a 5 star hotel, must have just been re-done. The room was clean and adequate, a slightly above average deal for the price.

The dining area downstairs was pleasant and had a fantastic terrace("patio" in American English, lol) on the street. In the mornings you'll see people walking the beach digging up clams. There's also a post office, laundromat and convenience store just a few doors down from the hotel. There's also 2 coffeeshops a block a way and a few pubs about 3 and 4 blocks away. The staff is very friendly and helpful and includes a cat that I saw.

One sidenote, the hotel is run by anti-smoking nazi's, which is great if youre a non-smoker, but sucks if you do smoke. Youre not even allowed to smoke on the terrace. There are signs posted threatening a 100 pound(that's $200 USD!) "cleaning fee" if you smoke in your room. I smoke so I had to go downstairs everytime I wanted a smoke.

If I ever go to Hastings again(doubtful, since I was just going to see the battlefield in nearby and having done that there's no real reason for me to go back), I would def stay at this place again.

The only caveat is the one night I was there, there was a drum circle outside, across the street on the beach. I have no idea if this was a nightly, weekly, monthly, etc. thing. I was so tired I fell asleep by 9, but they were still playing. Might want to call the hotel and ask about this.

Stayed at the White Rock Hotel for two nights.
Found the accommodation to be reasonably priced, clean and modern with a nice sea-view.
The chap who runs the place is very friendly.

The food in the cafe was okay.
Terrace outside was good, especially if you happen to catch the sun shining.

The biggest negative without doubt was the temperature in the room.
This has obviously been reported before as we were provided with a mobile air-conditioning unit but this really made little difference.

If they can sort this problem out as part of the on-going refurbishment then it's certainly worth a try.

stayed for 1 night and the room was pleasant enough. the hotel is being redecorated at present, but that did not detract from the visit. Had breakfast in the hotel, which was OK as well.
