“R&F2 - Top plaice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

GO HERE... YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

Despite not being able to find it initially and hence arrived late (it's actually on the beach not on the seafront road), we were greeted by a friendly waitress, then a friendly waiter... then the whole thing just carried on being perfect.

If you like Brilliant Views, Scrummy Food, Excellent Service go here. Simples.

“Great Seafood on the edge of the Lanes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

We stumbled as cross this small restaurant on the edge of the Lanes the day before we actually visited for lunch.
Riddle and Finns serves great fresh fish and seafood.
Sat at high tables with a central candle display adds to the atmosphere of this restaurant.
My wife went for the Scallops followed by the garlic prawns, whereas I enjoyed half a dozen Oysters followed by the whole Crab Salad, the Crab was huge and the salad was no more than a garnish a brilliant dish that kept me busy for some time cracking open the legs to find wonderfully fresh meat, all washed down with a refreshing glass of Sancerre.
What a delightful way to spend an afternoon.
The service was great with the young waitresses keeping you supplied with a never ending bread basket.
Definitely will come back and maybe next time I will try the Fruit de Mer, with Crab or Lobster.

“Best meal in Brighton”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

I have decided to join Trip Advisor after my recent visit to the beach Riddle and Finns restaurant. This is the best place to eat in Brighton. Me and my wife had the time of our lives! We came for a romantic dinner after discovering the restaurant earlier in a day while walking along the beach. We booked as they were expecting to be very busy. We were warmly greeted by Lucas, who have managed to get us a table in the window with a perfect view of the beach! We did have to wait for it but he didn't mind us sitting on the sofa and having a glass of bubbly while the table was getting ready (it's nice to see a "human" manager who can make a conversation and make you laugh!). He recommended the champagne and was ready to answer all the questions regarding the menu (we had a few). Brighton scallops and a smoked haddock are a must to try! Our waitress, Heather was superb! Always smiling and very professional despite having to deal with some very demanding and not always nice tables who sat next to us. All of all, this is the place we will definitely be coming back over and over again! We couldn't imagine better food mixed with better staff and management, and the view is truly amazing too! If only all the restaurant were like Riddle and Finns...

“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013 via mobile

Myself and a friend decided to head here last night (Friday 12th). Rang up prior to book but were told they don't take bookings. Had to wait for about 20 minutes for a table which was fine and were showed to a little sofa and ordered some wine. We were then seated at a table outside with amazing views. It took about half an hour for our order to be taken but the place was obviously very busy and we were given bread so it wasn't an issue. The waitress was very honest apologising about the wait saying they were a bit short staffed. We both decided on scallops to start one with chorizo and chilli and one with lemon and parsley. Really nice! Chorizo and chilli ones had so much flavour and they were cooked perfectly. My friend then had seabass and I had the haddock with champagne sauce. We both commented saying that it was probably the best meal we had eaten in a long long time! We shared the dessert selection and key lime pie which were both homemade and lovely. The waitress was so friendly and helpful! Very good product knowledge and very attentive. It seemed quite pricey at £140 for 2 people but that was 3 courses and 2 bottles of wine. We will definitely be going back and will be recommending to all!

“A great find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013 via mobile

Found this restaurant while wandering around the Lanes. Quick efficient service although they were obviously very busy with Graduation day. Fantastic seabass with crispy rosti and peas, while my friend had a whole sea bream. All very well cooked and fantastically fresh. Liked the idea of sharing tables until we found that we had a couple with the worst table manners sitting opposite! Can't wait to try the one on Brighton beach
