“lovely lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

i went with my family for lunch on a friday afternoon. it was busy but the staff were still very attentive and brought a balloon for my 1 yr old neice to play with which i thought was a nice touch. food was delicious (i normally go for the duck) and our waitress could not have been more helpful. i have been here several times and the food and service have always been of a high standard. we were also impressed with the selection on the childrens menu.

“Unfortunate”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

A group of us went in December and found it struggling with service. We had water and that was it. We got up and left after waiting about 20 mins for anyone to really acknowledge us. Apart from being seated that was it. Usually have a pleasant time in any cafe rouge but this was a shame. Seemed they were not prepared for a larger group. Granted we hadn't booked but the place was hardly bulging at the seams! Maybe next time?

“Always go here on a brighton visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Whenever we are in Brighton we always make sure we visit Cafe Rouge, i usually end up having steak here, its always cooked really well just to my liking. The atmosphere is romantic and quiet, the staff are always helplful.
The price is reasonable too.
The toilets could do with a little bit of TLC

“Perfectly Reasonable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

A quick meal needed before seeing Status Quo at The Brighton Centre. Terrine was a good starter, the crab pate a little too like a jar of crab paste! We both had beef bourguignon which was very good. With one beer and a soft drink the bill was £37 after taking off 20% with a voucher - acceptable although menu prices seem to have gone up a fair bit, presumably to offset the fact that we all turn up with vouchers these days.

“Average”

OK for a quick lunch, just don't expect any thunder and lightening. Food mediocre, staff, usual bunch of East European student types. Value for money, poor. There are other better places within 50 metres.
