“Friendly, clean and great position”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend. i have stayed in Brighton many times because my brother lives there and he recommended staying in the Kemp town area.
Fantastic little B&B, very reasonably priced. Our room was lovely with a very gorgeous comfy bed, lovely decor and a small but spotless bathroom.
Its worth going down for the breakfast, which neither of us normally eat, but we could smell it cooking. It was lovely, good quality ingredients, however the breakfast room is a little like sitting in someones front room, but I guess that's the charm of a B&B.
Great location, just a 10 - 15 minute walk from the main city centre but there is also plenty to do in Kemp town, great restaurants and nightlife.

Would recommend Pavel indian on St James, they were very friendly and the food was lovely. The Thai opposite were rude and ignored us for so long and then served everyone around us so we ended up walking out, however we did end up in Pavel so the night ended on a high.

Myself and my wife stayed at Number 14 from 28/11 to 30/11 to celebrate my birthday as we had both managed to get time off work. Its our first time staying at a bed and breakfast in Brighton before as we had mainly only stayed in hotels when we have been but due to them now being way overpriced for a nightly stay we decided to give staying in a B&B a go. After staying here we would not want to go back to a hotel chain!.

Cannot fault anything the hosts Chris & Terry were ever so friendly and made us feel really welcome. The websites not wrong when it says "home from home"!. The rooms were lovely and the breakfasts were to die for. I had the cook breakfast both days and kept me going throughout the day. The location is great too, peaceful and near enough to walk to shops, bars and attractions.

If you are thinking about staying here just book!. We are already looking forward to when we can come back hopefully in the new year. I cant recommend this place highly enough!.

Thanks for a lovely stay Chris and Terry, look forward to seeing you again soon.

Andrew & Dawn

Room Tip: Room 2 is lovely worth asking if you can have this as nice and spacious.

Stayed at No14 in late November 2012. Booked over the phone which was effortless and was given a specific room number. When we arrived, the welcome was warm and friendly. Our bags were even carried upstairs to the allocated room. The room was immaculate. And everything worked. Supplied were bottled water, quality shower products, towels and hand/bodycreams. Plus the usual tea and coffee. The breakfast was excellent; faultless. We stayed two nights and thank the owners for making our weekend stay hassle free. Mike & Lou

If a hotel chain could offer what Bannings do the B&B industry would be in trouble. Evidence indicates that's not happening any time soon. What a delight it was that In a world of mass market, cut priced, you are a number establishments, it's still possible to find some warm humanity.

Cosy, homely, and unpretentious.

Me and Mrs H stayed in room 3 for a little one night getaway. Lovely from start to finish

Right or wrong I judge somewhere on the quality of its coffee. Banning's is 5*, nice.
Breakfast was the best I have had anywhere
Terry & Chris are lovely hosts
B&B is not just for the older generation. A full range of ages were spotted at breakfast.
Room was very quiet
Beds were very comfy, And I defy anyone to need all the pillows that were available.

In short, Go......

Just spent the weekend at this lovely B&B. Thank you Chris and Terry for your warm hospitality, you were so helpful and always had time to have a chat with us. This was our first visit to Brighton and we were not disappointed! Your place is a real little treasure, we loved all the little touches like the chalk board to tell us to put our clock back an hour, the room was very comfortable and clean and the breakfast' as it comes' was to die for- infact we didn't need anything else to eat for the whole day until our evening meal.
We really felt home from home, the atmosphere is unrushed, laid back and good value for money. We look forward with anticipation to our next visit!

A friend and I recently stayed in this B&B. We had a lovely clean room, the owners were really friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was great! Loads of little touches too, which were really appreciated, such as a selection of magazines, bottled water, etc. The location is great too. I'll be back.
