In my opinion, the George IV strikes a lovely balance between a Hotel and a guest house. My boyfriend and I chose Brighton/George IV as our base for a renunion weekend with friends coming from Europe. After a warm welcome, the owners seemed quite inobtrusive but were only a call away if needed. Rooms very clean, nice bed linen, good attention to detail and breakfast brought to our room each morning.
Also the situation of the George is perfect - being set back from the main road with Regency Square in front of the Hotel therefore minimalising traffic noise but still giving wonderful sea views from the front facing rooms.
We hope to revisit this Spring. Can't wait!
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Period townhouse offering fantastic sea views across one of Brighton's finest squares. The atmosphere is friendly and informal and we are perfectly located in central Brighton. There are wonderful sea-view rooms, all beautifully decorated and extremely spacious, including a balcony room which takes everyone's breath away. The AA made a point of complimenting our housekeeping recently so the rooms are pretty spotless, and we're a smoke-free zone. Underground car park across the road. ... more less
