“Funky hotel with great central location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

While it may not be to everyone's taste, the hotel had a very modern decor and the room was clean and well maintained, although a little warm (no a/c), quite small and suffered from some outside noise. The en-suite was very pleasant and seemed recently fitted. The location is very central at the expense of any decent parking, so be prepared to fight for an on-street space or head to a nearby car park first. I had to call the hotel as on arrival the front door was locked and I got no response from the buzzer. So not a great first impression, however I was quickly greeted by a pleasant and friendly member of staff who made sure I was all set and had a key for my colleague's room who would be arriving early hours. It's worth noting the hotel effectively 'closes' at 10.30pm although there is a 24hr number you can call and a live-in member of staff should they be needed. We left before breakfast was served so couldn't attest to the quality of that. I would consider staying here again however.

We paid £110 per night for a double room and were extremely disappointed. The room was scruffy, the furnishings tatty and broken and the ensuite bathroom smelt mouldy. As another reviewer mentioned, the door to the bathroom is glass, so no privacy! Our first night was hot, but the window was in a poor state of disrepair and could not be opened and there was no fan or air con. Also nowhere to hang your clothes as the only cupboard housed the fridge and kettle, so no point in putting your things in there unless you wanted them steamed! The only good thing about this establishment is the staff who were welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Good location but would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Dont stay here

We stayed here a while ago now. It was recommended by Mr and Mrs Smith. The rooms were designed nicely but there was a very big massage chair in the room that didn't work which was a bit inconvenient. The hotel wasn't as clean as it could have been either which was a shame. And the pictures on line etc do make it look better than it is. That said we had a great weekend here. The staff were very friendly. We would return.

We stayed for a weekend but was disappointed as it looked different to the pictures on the website. Very nice staff. The room smelt a bit odd, like old smoke. The decor was unusual and the shower was cold. I don't think we would return.

Room Tip: We stayed on the very top floor.

£89 a night room only rate. Scruffy, warn out room, rough looking. Tv broken, mattress on bed like sleeping on a sofa - hard, thin mattress. Sub standard. Spot lights blown, the room has the appearance and feel of cheap DIY done many years ago. From the description I was expecting much higher quality.

I stayed for 1 night with my partner. We were greeted by the owner & his team who checked us in & showed us to room 2 which was a very modern double with trendy glass furniture. It was clean, spacious, comfortable & just what we needed. The trendy bathroom had a powerful rain shower with space for 2 and comp molten brown products :) Breakfast is included too which is served in the reception/bar area and was lovely with speciality teas and coffees. Great location and friendly staff - Thank you for your hospitality - We will definitely be staying again xx
