“Still a great evening of entertainment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

We went to the Sunday night comedy club - 5 comedians (we ended up with an extra one due to overbooking!) plus the compere for a great price! As a student and an NHS worker we got £5 tickets which is a bargain!
We arrived early to get seats and some food. As we were there as a couple you have to share a bigger table with others unless you want to sit right at the front, but this isn't really a problem.
Bar-type food can be ordered and is about £10 per meal; it was served quickly and was hot and tasty. Alcohol was a bit pricey (about £20 a bottle of wine and over £4 for beer).
All the staff were friendly and helpful and the acts were really varied. Obviously what is funny is somewhat of an individual thing but we had a great evening and were crying with laughter at times!
I used to go here as a student many years ago and the same compere is still hilarious!!

“Comedians not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013 via mobile

We always go to the Komedia every time we visit Brighton. As it was the Fringe we thought we would add a night there on our itinery. We found a difference this time The compere was OK, but the comedians did not appear to have any funny material we were treated to night of genitalia material which quite frankly is boring! We are not planning on another visit. It's a shame as the venue has improved, we love the buzzy atmosphere but comedians are getting lazy.

“Comedy good, prices a rip off !”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013 via mobile

The comedians were very funny however, could not get a pint for 20 minutes at the start of the night because the barrel needed changed, then paid £20 quid for a bottle of mediocre white wine ....... biggest joke of the night! Then we were hurried out at the end of the evening because of a private party! All in all, this evening cost us £240 just to have a laugh for 2 hours!

“Great stand up comedians! :)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

Great evening, well organised, all the comedians and compere were brilliant! Do not sit at the front if you do wish to get picked on. :) And do not heckle, everyone that did was crucified, it was cringe worthy! :)

“Cheap ticket however expensive drinks!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013 via mobile

After walking past the Komedia club we went in to enquire about tickets in the cafe which is open during the day, adult tickets were £9.00 each and we were served then and there.

Doors opened at 7pm and we arrived for about 7.45pm, show to start at 8pm. We were shown seats and had advised that we would have to share with another couple, however we were lucky to find a two person bench at the back. Drinks were expensive, a glass of rosé and a pint of Murphys coming in at £9.50! A coke was also £3.50.

We went to the Comic Boom night, and thoroughly enjoyed the compere and the comics.

Would go back again, however be more aware of limiting the drinks bought inside.
