After reading several positive reviews on happycow.net my wife and I were pleased to secure a booking for Friday 1st February for the 'Special Reopening Menu'. The glowing feedback we had read was well justified. Service was pleasant, efficient and friendly. The food was delicious, imaginative, colourful and beautifully presented. The menu consisted of Jerusalem artichoke & roast garlic soup, with chestnut pesto, truffle oil & herbed croutons, followed by walnut, smoked sun dried tomato & sage filled portobello mushroom, served on a kale & potato cake, topped with beetroot relish & 'sour cream', Romesco sauce & purple sprouting broccoli, finishing off with a decadent dessert of peanut & chocolate cheesecake. All the different flavours and textures complimented each other so well. Although artistically arranged, the portion sizes were generous and the whole three course meal was great value for money at £20 each, with the added bonus of a 'bring your own' option, which meant we had a fantastic, memorable and totally vegan dining experience!
