“Unpretentious, classy, great service. Brilliant food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Great service, brave mostly fish menu. 4 of us had different meals and we all shared ending up with a kind of dégustation thing. Fantastic main meals and starters. Only the desserts were a little uninspiring and the wine was fair (graduation of alcohol for the 'MrSmith' wine over flavour or smoothness.) Really involving and attentive staff. Met the chef afterwards. He's a talented lad who seemed taken aback by our compliments. He shouldn't have been and he should be complimented more. He's got a bright future ahead of him. Needs a pay rise! Well done fella! Thoroughly recommended, would go back to Brighton from Berkshire in a heartbeat to have the experience again.

“Excellent birthday evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

Visited a couple of weeks ago for my wife's birthday. The food was delicious and the view from the windows overlooking the sea just adds to the occasion.
The real stars of the show on an unusually quiet Friday evening were the delightful staff. Front of house was Claire, who went out of her way to look after us, and really went the extra mile for the birthday. It was a lovely gesture to meet the 2 chefs at the end of the evening with their take on a cake! So thankyou from us both and I hope your management read this review Claire !

“Perfect in every way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

Having previously seeing the restaurant and falling in love with the place I decided to invite my dad for his birthday, The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was exceptional and the setting just made it a lovely experience. It was really nice to try the local wine made at plumpton collage and the local oysters were delicious. The sardine pate was so delicious we had to ask for another portion. Can't wait to return. 10/10

“Delicious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Had a delicious dinner here whilst in Brighton on a girls weekend. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Would definately recommend sitting by the windows, we had a table at the back of the Arch above the kitchen and it got very hot.

“a great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

I came here with some friends last friday and we were really impressed with the experience we had. From the minute we walked in the service was exceptional, the restaurant was very busy but the service didnt falter at all. The wine list was impressive and interesting, and the front of house staff were well informed and gave excellent recomendations. i was particularly impressed with the choice of champagnes on offer, the one we choose was beautiful. The food we had was also fantastic, whilst i had heard lots of great things about "Due South", i had never been myself but i would find it hard to believe that the food could have been better than we had. All of our dishes were cooked to perfection. The chef, who we all thanked personally afterwards, is incredibly passionate and enthusiastic about what she does, which is great to see. We all agreed that this one of the best afternoons we had spent... and that view really is something too!
