Typical Premier Inn in a great location. Clean rooms, decent beds and friendly staff. The twin/family rooms are very large indeed for a city centre hotel. Only glitch was having to move rooms after the first night on a four night stay. Despite asking for a quiet room we were put in a room where the sound double glazing was faulty and the room was right next to the security door which annoyingly clunked shut a few moments after anyone went through. Given the hotel was far from full we thought they could have done better! When we moved to the 7th (top) floor things definitely improved. The lift only goes to the 6th floor so the last flight is a walk up stairs but that wasn't any problem. Well worth it for the peace and quiet! The restaurant seemed too small for the number of rooms, but we soon discovered there are so many GREAT places to eat within a few minutes walk that presumably many guests take that option. I know we did after the first day's breakfast. Given we arrived on Christmas Day it would have been nice to see a few Christmas decorations and a more festive atmosphere, but the lack of which was hardly a deal breaker. One tree next to the restaurant was the lot. Overall though a good stay and would definitely return if we wanted to be in the city centre and the room rate was good.
