We stayed at Nightingales, the excellent B&B in Kingston and went for a walk for a couple of hours up to the South Downs Way and then along it.
There were a lot of butterflies and other insects and the walk itself, along the ridge made you feel you were on top of the world.
We started by walking towards Brighton and after an hour or so returned coming down to the village by a different chalky (and steep!) path. It certainly got rid of the cobwebs and the rain stayed off.
