“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013 via mobile

Well worth the drive up on a beautiful sunny day. Lunch at the pub was good but slightly over priced. Picnic lunch would be another option. Worth a second visit in future.

“superb picnic spot no matter how you choose to get there”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

It's a steady uphill but pleasant bike ride or open-top bus ride up to devil's dyke, and plenty of people stop in as they walk along the meandering south downs way. A huge grassy slope provides heaps of space for families, couples, sunbathers, dogs chasing frisbees and cycle groups. There is a lovely expansive view of the flat quaint valley below and to the north.
There is a very scenic hotel at the top too if you don't feel like bringing your own supplies, though it's fairly pricey which is not surprising given the spectacular and relatively isolated location.

“77 bus all the way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

I took the 77 open air bus to Devil's Dyke and thoroughly enjoyed the ride through the small villages en route. The guide gave out excellent brochures, the views of the Dyke and surrounding area were fabulous. Very recommendable
