“A walk back in time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

The pier itself is fantastic - a real testiment to engineering that's stood the test of time. It's really lovely to take a promonade down the pier, looking out to sea or back accross the sea front of Brighton. You can buy some fish and chips to eat while you wander - but look out for dive-bombing seagulls though! Maybe better to sit in the lovely fish and chip resterant (out of the wind) and then continue your walk.
The attractions on the pier are like a mini-funfair, with large arcades that are bright and noisy. It's fun to spend a little time in them if that's your thing - personally it's more fun to me just playing the penny machines of a by-gone era - but the fun of being on the pier is the experience itself, rather than any of the things on there.

“Must see but waist of time”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

Take a look at this nostalgic peer. But it is only a glorified game and slot machine room.
Maybe more romantic during the summer.

“Fun afternoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

My adult daughter and I loved our fun afternoon on Brighton Pier. It's free to go on the pier, but you have to pay for the rides. You can purchase a ticket for one ride, or buy rides in bulk for a discounted price. We ate candy floss, rode on the merry go round, watched people scream with terror on the scarier rides and enjoyed the lovely sea and town views from the pier. It was great to see families enjoying themselves. From the pier, we could see the famous white cliffs in the distance and a great view of Brighton itself from both sides of the pier. We didn't go into the amusement arcade, but just enjoyed the walk along the whole length of the pier. We stopped in one of the pubs which was full of people watching an international rugby union game. The day was very cold and windy, but it made no difference to our enjoyment. We had a truly lovely afternoon on Brighton Pier.

“Great venue poor content”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

A little disappointing to my taste.
The pier itself is gorgeous and historic and in surprisingly good nick, but there is just too much tat on it, and everything seemed v expensive too. Mobbed with tweens when we were there, but suppose that is the target audience.
Would prefer on a nice quiet day where you could sit and watch the world go by.

“Cheap games and eats”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

I'm not sure why I've heard all my life about Brighton Pier. There is nothing here but cheap games of chance and tacky food stalls.
