Visited earlier today on basis of supposed good write ups & recommendations in guides etc. Drove into the multi storey car park & encountered a Sunday morning market which looked more like a car boot market or flea market. Quite a few people wandering in the car ramp areas which was frankly dangerous. No maps of the site for visitors - there were several empty plastic holders on walls. It is fair to say that the harbour is picturesque but it was nothing out of the ordinary. The upper boardwalk was full of eateries with staff sitting at empty tables in a wasteland of potential devoid of customers even though it was lunchtime. The shopping area as such had a Calvin Klein shop, a cheap & cheerful factory shop selling all manner of things & a World Books. I'm sure that there is untapped potential here somewhere & no doubt there is something rather nice about sipping a coffee outside an eaterie in the height of summer whilst watching yachts sally to & fro but sadly today there was nothing to suggest the merit in a return visit. On a wet Sunday in December it would be more fun sitting on Brighton Beach behind a wind break with a flask of tea!
