“Great Value mid-week”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

My husband and I visited Bowlplex on a Thursday morning expecting to have one game of bowling. However, we were greeted with a massive sign saying "3 games for £6.99".. bargain!

One great thing about this bowling alley is that you can wear your own shoes (as long as they are flat!) this meant no having to put your feet in those horrible bowling shoes that have been worn by 100s of others before you.

As it was mid-week during term time there weren't many lanes taken and we definitely didn't feel rushed at all while we were playing.

After our three games, we headed over to the pool tables and had three games here (£1 a time) - they have three tables and each is situated a good distance from the next so that even if all were in use there wouldn't be any issues with space.

We also spent some time in the arcade, the machines in here tend to be a bit cheaper than the equivalent on the Pier, so your money goes further.

I know we could have just been lucky coming at such an off-peak time, but I really couldn't think of a bad thing to say about Bowlplex!

“Won't be going there again.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

Went to the bowl plex with friends yesterday. They have a good selection of arcade games and it is reasonably priced.
However. I have never experienced such poor customer service in my life. Everything was so slow, with hardly any staff I understand that it may take a bit longer. But a 'Sorry for the delay' would have been nice and also a smile from the staff would have gone down well. When I told a member of staff that the ticket machine had run out of tickets and that we were owed some, It was as if I had just asked them to move England to the other side of the world! And trying to get the barriers up was a problem, having to go up to the reception 3 times to get it sorted! Disappointed.

“A fun afternoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Very enjoyable time. Three games for £21 were much cheaper than the price for 2! Hadn't been bowling for donkeys years when scoring used to be done manually on paper. Useful having the electronic score screen, plus hints to tell you where to aim! I also hadn't seen before the special aid (like a plastic framed slide) for aiming and rolling the ball, for children or people who choose to use them. Interesting to discover that you can now wear your own flat shoes when bowling too. Mysterious tickets came out of the stand with every shot until we had hundreds of them! No notices told us what these were for but after enquiring from a person in the next lane, we found that they could be exchanged for a small toy/gift in the Amusement machine area, and were obviously a ruse to get you in there. Apart from standing waiting at the booking desk for 10 minutes at the start, with the staff behind the desk not even acknowledging we were there, we had a great time. Each game took about half an hour for 3 people. Great to see the whole age-range, from 3 year olds to pensioners, enjoying themselves. The free parking in the multi-storey car park at the Marina helped too!

“Enjoyable but check out deals on-line !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

Another enjoyable trip to the bowlplex at Brighton Marina. well worth checking out the deals on-line before you visit otherwise it can be fairly expensive for a family.
