“Wonderful boutique hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here and from the minute we walked in fell in love with the hotel.

The room was stylish, fantastic use of space, with wet room and views of the sea.

We ate in the restaurant and were very impressed with quality of the food and service.

The best part was the cocktail bar and service provided, really knowledgeable staff who created wonderful cocktails for us.

Would recommend to anyone.

Lovely lovey staff who really put in effort to make our stay amazing. Beautiful room with a bath and amazing view of the sea and pier. Great cocktails and discrete room service. Would highly recommend for a romantic few nights. Get a room with a bath if you can.

Having been to Drakes for my birthday nearly 2years ago in the private dinning room, I decided to treat my wife for her birthday living in Brighton i decided on Drakes hotel. We spent 1 night there and had the chefs 5 course, which ended up 7 course, tasting menu, a great time was had, staff very attentive food excellent.
I booked a sea facing ying and yang room a bit small but otherwise no problem, except the toilet roll does get very soggy in the wet room.
Having read comments on here I would say overall a great place to stay, try booking a room at hotel du vin, see the price for just a room, then you will see why 1 of Brightons top hotels is value for money. Even if you don't stay you must try the restaurant, I intend to go back and try the chefs game tasting menu soon.

When called to book a room, was promised a large city facing room with freestanding bath down some steps, costing £200 per night, room only.
What we got was a regular double size, steps down to a bathroom with regular bath. Shower was not very good, and view was non existent. Internet was intermitent and therefore of little use.
We felt we had definately been missold this room. On top of this on the phone we were advised parking available, only to be charged £25 for the two nights for this. Given that parking was on private land this should surely have been included in the high room rate.
Noise from travellers leaving next door woke us early on Sunday and noise upstairs on Saturday night prevented us from sleeping.
Very disappointed, and wish I had read all the poor reviews on trip advisor prior to booking.
Have not previously written on this site, but hope these comments help others in managing their expectations.

Stayed in circular King Seaview room for 1 night for husbands birthday. Very friendly, welcoming and efficient reception staff when booking the room and arriving at the hotel. Room really nicely decorated with good use of space. Lots of nice touches, with robe, slippers, white company toiletries and a card from all the staff wishing my Husband Happy Birthday. Huge bath in front of the Window (make sure you strategically close the shutters unless you are an exhibitionist). Had dinner bed and breakfast package, restaurant very nice, food good, and staff very efficient. Hotel bar in reception has large selection of drink/wine and serves lovely cocktails. Hotel in a good location opposite the pier and close walking distance of all the main attractions. Only downside was that the hotel is on a main road and if seafacing there will be a little road noise

Stayed here for just one night and were not disappointed. In fact we even went the whole hog and ate here too.
Arrived late morning and so got a parking space . I think there are 10 in total and are a godsend as parking is difficult in the area. Our bags were looked after and were ready in our room when we came back from pottering around late afternoon.
The room (101) was fantastic. The bath in the window had a lovely view of the pier and much hilarity was had trying to get in and out of it without giving the promenaders on the sea front or travellers on the top deck of the many buses the full monty!
Dinner was excellent. The staff were attentive and when I mentioned that I had found the grouse too rare ( my fault for not sending it back but I could tell that it was all just to strong for me and so didn't ) and that it had just probably been the wrong choice they took it off the bill. I didn't ask for that and frankly didn't deserve it as it was a wrong choice by me and not their fault! But thank you anyway.
Breakfast excellent.... so v good all round!

Only grouse tho was the olives in my martini still had the stones in.... how can I look sexy and alluring when I'm busy spitting olive stones out!!
