Description: A name which falls easily from the lips of just about any in the know Brighton resident, Koba Bar and Bistro is the perfect place for relaxed restaurant dining, lazy breakfasts and, quite simply, enjoying the chilled out Brighton lifestyle. Born from a previously smaller bar, the award winning Koba Bar and Bistro is now a thriving hive of dining and drinking activity, offering three coolly sophisticated bars, a spacious bistro and private dining rooms too, not to mention chichi pavement dining. Kobas modern but unpretentious look is beautifully understated, put together using tactile, warm materials and focusing as much on comfort as on style. Fully intending to make diners feel good, Kobas menus are very much influenced by the Mediterranean, offering a range of brunch, lunch and dinner options as well as ever changing blackboard specials. Equally as important is Kobaa drinks list. Known for its cocktails this great bar also provides the best of old and new world wines and a variety of beers.

“Great cocktails”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Cocktails on Thursday evening - very enjoyable, especially during happy hour when they're £4 instead of £7. We enjoyed mojitos and caipirinhas.
We visited again on Sunday to try the Sunday lunch. Plenty of it but it's not the traditional Sunday roast: I had belly of pork and my wife had lambshank - plenty of everything and although we quite enjoyed the meal in itself we were slightly disappointed it was not what we expected. The white wine was at cellar temperature rather than properly chilled but an icebucket was quickly provided
As others have mentioned below, service is friendly but not particularly swift so perhaps not the best place if you're in a hurry. .Otherwise I'd say it's worth a visit.

“Sunday lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Not quite a traditional Sunday roast, but close. I had lamb, which came as a shank, my friend had pork, which came as pork belly, with ample veg. Including potatoes roasted in duck fat and Yorkshire pudding. Very tasty. A good selection of starters and desserts were on offer but the mains are very large and all we could manage. Dinner for two, with house wine , coffee and service came to a reasonable £48.00 for two. I shall certainly go again.

“Top eatery in Brighton!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

Have spent week in Brighton and found fabulous place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The staff and service at koba were exceptional. Quality of meals top notch and prices very reasonable.

Feel of place was cosy and inviting. Nothing is too much trouble for staff, even if you just drop in for a coffee and a relax. I'm visiting from Australia and highly recommend a visit.

A group of 8 of us ate here and we all had fabulous food. Freshly cooked, seasonal ingredients, interesting dishes and all came wrapped up with really friendly service.

“Cool bar, nice food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012 via mobile

Went here for lunch whilst out shopping, we just had a few drinks and some of the starters off the menu, food was lovely, service was friendly. I can imagine this is a pretty cool place in the evening. The main courses looked really good as we sat by the kitchen so saw them coming out. They had a nice menu, lots of options you don't see elsewhere, like beer battered fennel chips! Mmmm
