“Best in Brighton?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

Hard to beat. Very boring exterior ( note to owners making outside more attractive would help-first impressions and all that ). Once inside impeccable service and simply the best food I have eaten in Brighton. Staff were really efficient and charming without being too imposing. We went with our kids and it was a great experience for them who surprisingly are both pretty knowledgable about food. The 2-3 course meal is good value and overall including wine, tip and 3 desserts cost was £140. This was a special occasion But for such exceptionally good food plus super service in a relaxed atmosphere this was good value. If you want a special night out don,t miss this place!

“Best meal ever?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013 via mobile

Finally visited this restaurant, after being unable to get a reservation last year when we tried. Was phoned during the day to confirm reservation, and was greeted like an old friend when arriving.
Great decor and atmosphere, wonderful staff - pleasant, unobtrusive and attentive.
Menu was really interesting with mouthwatering dishes. The presentation was fab, sadly my photos did them no justice. Started with lobster croutons, followed by beetroot gnocchi and finally a local cheeses board. After coffees and homemade truffles.
The best meal ever? I can't think of another to beat it. In the words of Arnie "I'll be back!"

“A truly memorable evening!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013 via mobile

Recommended by our B and B. We were given a very warm welcome and a choice of 2 tables. All the staff were incredibly polite and very knowledgable about the food which quite simply was astounding!! Easily some of the best food that we have ever eaten in a restaurant. We could not fault any of the 3 courses. I'm sure it wont be long before a michelin star is awarded. Beautifully presented and definitely not style over substance and very, very delicious. The bill was an added surprise which made the evening the most exceptional value for a dinner of this standard.

“Possibly my best meal in Brighton?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

Fine dining isn't my first choice when eating out but my starter (lamb & figs) and main (taste of the seaside) were excellent. A great combination of flavours, textures etc. Super cooking and, in my opinion, much better than Drakes. I eat out a lot and was expecting to be slightly disappointed (as eating out in B&H is invariably mediocre) but wasn't! The only negatives...it may be a bit pricey for some (but the quality of the cooking justifies the price aIthough the sorbet palette cleanser between courses was a little steep for what it was...so give it a miss) and the dining room is a little drab and old fashioned - so not really the place to enjoy a buzzy night out - more suited to an older diner.
