We booked a two night stay through an offer in the Metro newspaper. My first thought was that they would say it would be more expensive than the price in the paper as it was half term week. But no, it was exactly the price quoted and they didn't charge any extra for a cot (which many hotels do). The staff in the call centre were unsure about family rooms so put us through to the front desk in the hotel to get further details. Whomever it was I spoke to, was extremely polite and helpful and gave me the exact room numbers of the family rooms and also told me which were slightly bigger, so I could request that particular room.
On arrival at the hotel, we got a parking space right outside the door (great when you've got the kids in tow)! However there is more parking around the back. My only slight complaint would be the cost of parking, which is £15 for 24 hrs. It would be quite inconvenient for us to park anywhere else, but I understand why they have to charge and that most of the hotels in town would do the same but it could just be a little cheaper.
But back to the positive feedback! Our room was more than big enough, with plenty of space for the kids to get toys out on the floor. It was really clean and we had plenty of towels and toiletries. All the staff we came in to contact with were very polite and friendly, and all spoke to the children so we felt very welcome. The ladies on reception were extremely helpful and friendly, I just wished I had made a note of their names to praise them individually, (sorry)!
The restaurant was small but nice and the food was great. As we had dinner included in our package, I half expected to be given just a couple of options, but there were at four or five mains to choose from and three or four starters and desserts. Or you could have anything fro a la carte up to a certain value. The kids options were good too and my son who is one, ate for free!
The location of the hotel, I think was perfect. About 15 mins walk to the pier (quicker without a buggy and a four year old)! And probably only 10 mins walk to the main shopping area. Right on the seafront, so in the summer would be great to just go out and walk along the beach.
All in all, we had fabulous stay at Mercure Brighton Seafront. The atmosphere is very welcoming with friendly helpful staff, very clean and comfortable rooms and great food. What else can you ask for?? Would definitely consider staying there again.

Thank you very much for your recent review of your stay in Brighton.
I really enjoyed reading about your experiences in the Hotel and I am extremely pleased you had an enjoyable break.
I will pass your generous comments on to the staff where they will be gratefully received as we work hard to ensure guests are happy and comfortable throughout their stay.
I am however, sorry to see you were disappointed with the charge of the car parking. Unfortunately parking in Brighton is limited and very expensive which is why we are pleased to offer competitive rates so guests don’t have to pay that bit extra to park elsewhere. I hope this did not affect your stay with us.
It was nice to see you had dinner in the restaurant as we are keen for guests to try our exciting menu which has recently been re vamped and I am happy you had a good experience and enjoyed the tasty food.
I hope you enjoyed your time around Brighton and I look forward to welcoming you back to the Mercure soon.
