Description: The Thai word Sabai translates simply as relaxed, the perfect description of this Brighton gastrobar where the urban cool of London on Sea is matched to the ethnic charm of the Land of Smiles. Bringing a taste of Phukets beach bars and Bangkoks most upmarket restaurants to the UK, Sabai is all about chilling out, South East Asian style a fact which is patently clear from the silk floor cushions, cocktail menu and warm, smiling welcome. The deep red and dark wood, gold and green interior is as beautiful as Sabais freshly cooked, authentic food, MSG free and made using local ingredients where possible and imported Thai herbs and spices where essential. Because everything is made to order, special requests are welcomed.

“Great food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

We went for a meal Saturday night - we had some great Thai curries with king prawns which was delicious. Service was good, attentive but not overpowering. There was a good atmosphere in the restaurant, it was busy but not did not feel crowded.

“Nice but no spice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

We ordered a delivery, which I must add cost about £4.50, cheeky considering food from other places is usually delivered free! The food was nice, but average-not good enough to choose here over somewhere else. The curry was pretty bland unfortunately, not a hint of spice which is unusual for Thai (had rendang, excuse the spelling). Also had duck in tamarin sauce-this was nice tho the sauce was a tad sharp. So overall it is ok but nothing special and considering the options available in Brighton and the price of the food here, I wouldn't order take away again.

“Excellent food, atmosphere and staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

We sat in the raised area where you eat in the authentic Thai style sat on cushions with a low table.
The staff were great, very friendly and attentive.
The food was outstanding, i had Tom Kha soup followed by spare ribs and chicken noodles, my wife had thai green curry and we both said it was one of the best meals we have ever had!
Highly recommended by someone who does not often take the time to write reviews

“Amazing thai food and cocktails!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

Visited on Friday 27th december just after christmas with my mum, we both love thai food and she had visited before. We didnt reserve a table but were seated straight away - although the rest of the restuarant was full. It took us ages to pick what to have because their is so much choice and it all looks so good! The food was amazing, one of the best thai meals I have ever had. The portions were large and really reasonably priced! We had two starters, two mains, a cocktail (i went for a milky midori one and she had a cosmo!) and a glass of prosseco each and the bill came to only £52! The service was quick and efficient and the staff where friendly. Will definitely be returning!
