I have been trying to encourage my partner to try Thai food and managed to persuade him to go to Sabai Thai while on holiday in Brighton.
The restaurant decor was warm & welcoming and the water feature really adds to atmosphere. The waitresses were attentive and friendly.
We had the vegetarian sharer starter; mushroom satay, spring rolls, crispy noodles, vegetable tempura & crispy seaweed. Everything was delicious and there was no problem with us substituting tofu for chicken satay. We finished everything on the plate and there was a huge selection for two people!
I had sabai pad thai (a speciality dish wrapped in an 'egg net'), which was amazing - a lovely touch having the ground peanuts, lime & dried chilli separately to add your own flavours.
My partner had the massaman curry with sticky rice, which he really enjoyed.
We were very full after, but managed to squeeze in a dessert each - deep fried ice cream and deep fried banana - both very tasty.
We left feeling very full, but completely satisfied and my partner has been raving ever since about how delicious it was.
A lovely first night in Brighton - totally recommend the restaurant and would definitely go back.
