Description: Located on the Kings Road in Brighton, Bar Aguadulce is a bright and buzzy spot popular with locals and daytrippers from the capital who all love the down-to-earth atmosphere and authentic Spanish menu. Serving everything from tapas to fresh fish and homemade puddings, Bar Aguadulce is a good spot for get-togethers and after-work drinks-and-dinner dates. Inside you'll find a simple dining room with polished wooden floors, cream walls and red and yellow accents, and the restaurant has a homely, chilled vibe. We love the presa Iberian pork pan-fried with garlic and bay leaves and served with potatoes; and the patatas mojopicon - deep-fried potatoes with a cumin, garlic and tomato salsa.

“Lovely food, friendly service and good atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2014

The food was very good - we had quite a big selection of tapas, which were all very tasty and authentically Spanish (and filling!). The service was spot on - very friendly, unflustered despite the fact that it was really busy (smack in the middle of the Brighton Festival). We live in Brighton and it's always tricky to recommend places for visitors to eat when they come down, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Aguadulce.

“Authentic Spanish tapas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014

I spotted this restaurant by accident as I was taking a short cut to get back to Old Steine in Brighton. That day the restaurant was closed for some 'family time' which made me smile and want to go back and try it. It is a genuine tapas restaurant run by a Spanish family. The food, wine and service are all excellent. The only thing that lets this restaurant down is the interior decorating which isn't great and makes the place seem empty when there are actually quite a lot diners all enjoying the fabulous food and drink. Try it; you won't regret it.

“Superb Tapas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2014

Sought this place out as saw TA reviews. Slightly concerned as it appeared to be the emptiest restaurant in Brighton, however, appearances can be deceptive.

Nice wine and excellent, tasty dishes. I had become wary of Tapas after too many formulaic tapas restaurants but this place has restored my faith. I will certainly be back.

“What a nice discovery!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2014

I have found this nice cosy restaurant thanks to an Iphone app which recommended it through tripadvisor reviews and I have to say that I am very happy with the restaurant in its entirety.
I dined on the 21st of April following a trip to Brighton with my girlfriend in order to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant owner as well as the rest of the staff were not aware of the celebration and I have to say that they treated me just like they did know. They were attentive at all times in spite the restaurant getting busy during the evening. The food was very fresh and, apart from the delicious home made tapas, we were able to order Lobster and drink nice wine, in order to accompany the meal, at a quite reasonable price. I am very satisfied with the overall experience and would not hesitate to recommend this little gem of a restaurant to anyone who, like me, loves tapas and fish/seafood.

“No frills...just fabulous food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014 via mobile

Persuaded my wife and friends to try Aguadulce over the Bank Holiday weekend. Efficient booking via email, and table was ready when we arrived slightly early.
Friendly and thoughtful service, no awkwardness when our friends were slightly late arriving.
Good advice when ordering...and then the food....Gambas pil pil were superb. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. Overall a great experience...will be back for the best tapas in Brighton.
