This restaurant should attract two distinct types of diners; those who like Dim Sum and those who want large quantities of food for a good price.
We weren't actually planning to eat here - we were planning to go to another restaurant a couple of doors down, but it was closed, it was raining and China China was pleasantly busy. We'd been here before many years ago (when, i think, it was down the road a bit). Anyway, we thought we'd give it a go.
The Dim Sum were excellent. We shall return and dine on these alone. This time we went for 4 Dim Sum between 2. All were good, and recommended as a starter. Dim Sum seemed to be all £2.80.
We ordered a main course each, and that was way too much. £5.50 - but massive. This is why I'd recommend the place for anyone on a budget. You get a lot for your money. If you are after more subtle flavours then go for Dim Sum or eat at Gars.
There was not exactly what you'd call an 'extensive' wine list. It is white or red, but for £10 a bottle, that again is pretty good value! Must be one of the cheapest anywhere - certainly in Brighton.
The restaurant provides a take-away service, and almost everyone must have over-ordered like us - so lots of customers left with take-away containers with the remains of the meal
It is cash only here - but then, you don't need much cash to eat here!
Next visit I reckon we'll go for 4 Dim Sum each plus vino or tea.
