“Excellent and just what we needed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

We had a group of 9 of us so we had the Loft Apartment and the Beach Apartment below but we used the Loft Apartment to socialise in.

Excellent space and so loved being able to get together and have meals and snacks and just relax. A hotel would not have given us so much and yet the cost when split was very good value.

Very clean, everything we needed (although could not get the stereo to work). Totally recommended.

Room Tip: Go for the Loft apartment, it is amazing.

We stayed for 3 nights last weekend. The double basement room was tiny with no wardrobe - just a few hooks on a wall. The appearance of the room was nothing like the ones on the website and there was no cooking facilities but did have tea/coffee making facilities with 2 mugs, 2 plastic bowls, 2 plates and small amount of cutlery. Being a basement apartment it was very dangerous down and indeed coming up the steps for fear of knocking your head off because of the upper bay window extending over the steps. You could also hear every step from the room above. Overall disappointing. We did not expect hotel standard but did expect a bit of decent space and cleanliness. The towels were only replaced once. Towel rail in the bathroom did not work. All in all it was not great to be honest.

We stayed in the Loft Apartment last weekend, it was fab. The place was just gorgeous, lovely room, and the living area upstairs is brilliant! It's great to have somewhere to chillout with friends, something which you can't do if you just have a hotel room. There is a dining area too, we had some friends over for a Thai meal which was great, can't remember the name of it now though!! Perfect location, one block back from the seafront, you can see the sea if you step out the front door. Lots of restaurants and shops just round the corner, and a short walk into the city. Parking was ok, we managed to find a spot on the road next door which wasn't a problem. Good to have milk/ tea/ coffee/ cereals supplied, nice little extra. Would really love to go back if there was a group of us going to Brighton again. Thanks for making our stay in Brighton extra special! :)

We have just returned from a two night stay . From the website the rooms looked great, airy and stylish. The truth was a very small one bed apt. The sofa bed too dreadful to sleep on judging by previous comments in the visitors book had the edition of two put you up beds in the living room which took up alot of a small space. The sheets on them hadn't been changed from the previous guests and when discovered no one on duty to sort it out. The bathroom floor was covered in hair and the noise from the above rooms was awful all night. The plumbing from these rooms was so loud it was a bucket being emptied above your head. Despite notices asking for quiet after 10pm the other guests partied way into the early hours of the morning. Not value for money, not a place to get any sleep.

Room Tip: dont book lowe rooms you will not get any sleep

Dear Guest

We are sorry that you took no notice to talk to our staff during your stay who could have easily put a lot of your problems right. We have staff available 24hrs a day - you just have to read the signs posted clearly in reception, in your room and on your personal email sent out to you prior to arrival -we cannot make this easier really. The sheets in the foldaway beds are not used - they are put on fresh for your arrival but may appear used as they're folded away

Regarding noise - sadly people in this day and age do not respect others - therefore we have in place a 24hr call out team who will come and make sure you are not disturbed by others partying - again an A4 notice in your room, reception and on emails explains this - please use it.

We cannot stress enough to guests to please talk to us and we will happily put everything right if theres a problem - writing a review after the event doesnt help us fix things during your stay I am afraid.

We stayed in the 'crash pad' room for 2 nights. Let me first start by saying that we knew from the photo's and the description that this room was going to be small, but just how small came as a shock. The room is tiny and completely unsuitable for two people, i'd describe it more as a cupboard under the stairs. They've greedily squeezed another sleeping space in to the apartment block to get as much money as possible. The room is so small you can't even walk past one another. There's 2 bar stools provided but nowhere to sit on them and you can't sit on the bottom bunk due to the lowness of the bunk above. There was a television in the room but it rarely worked..the slightest bit of wind or rain cut the signal out and you can only see the TV whilst sitting on the top bunk.

The room was dirty and it was like it had just been forgotten. There was a thick layer of dust on the blinds, there was rubbish under the beds (empty bottles etc) and the walls looked very tired and had marks on them. The bunk beds are rickety and could do with some attention, also good-luck safely using the ladder to the top bunk unless you are a 4 stone gymnast. The bathroom was mildly better than the bedroom but not by much. The shower doors didn't fully close, and because everything was so crammed in you could only fit one leg in-front of the sink. The 'view' from the window was either directly into someone else's bedroom or of a depressing wall with plaster pealing off of it...so make sure you close the blinds, especially in the bathroom as there is a direct view from the above apartments to the toilet and shower.

The room is next to the cleaners cupboard which is ironic seeing as our room was in such a state. After about 11am you can here the constant opening and closing of the cupboard door.
We had such a bad experience that we even considered cutting our break short and going home but we were unable to change the train tickets.

The room is barely acceptable for one person and is completely unsuitable for 2 people sharing and at £50 a night it's very overpriced for what you get.

We had previously stayed with Ei8ht apartments about a year ago in one of the bigger apartments and everything was spotless, we assumed the same standard would be carried out in all of the rooms regardless of the size or price but we were wrong.

The location was the only saving grace, and although we will undoubtedly be returning to Brighton in the near future we will not be staying here again.

Room Tip: Do not stay in the 'crash pad'

This is our budget room and doesnt have a sea view or indeed boasted as a large space -we will however state that what you see is what you get and the pictures are not misleading in anyway.
This room is very popular for people that want a budget quick and easy room to use - hence the crash pad. If you would like more space and luxury please book a bigger room - we have plenty

Stayed for one night 30th September with my family and found everything to be perfect.

Easy straightforward check in and out, apartment was clean comfortable and furnished to good standard through out,yes there were the odd signs of wear and tear but only minor and this is a rental property so is to be expected.

Previous negative reviews mentioned the breakfast pack, I found it to be more than adequate and it is only a gesture, it is not a bed and breakfast property.

Good location I had no issues with noise maybe as it was Sunday but Brighton is a fun town so you go expecting a level of noise.

Plenty of place to eat and drink nearby, the staff were very helpful and friendly and just a phone call away should you need them.

I will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Loft was great as split level added space and up out of the way

Check in was fuss free keys were ready for us in an envelope. We stayed on the top floor loft apartment. Only two bedrooms so if 6 of u stay 2 people will be on a makeup bed in the loft. Loads of space in this apartment with nice flat screen tv. The tv doesn't work in the bathroom though so don't get too excited! Great kitchen to cook in. Lovely shower room. Staff was nice & helpfully even lent us some DVDs. Parked outside in residents bays for £10. 5min walk to pubs, clubs, shopping & beach. Great place to have friends over & host!
