“Eclectic, funky, very Brighton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013 via mobile

Ultra modern decor and contra to previous review über-helpful staff. We got a very decent rate on a basic room from a consolidator and took the onsite up sell to a superior (for a very reasonable price ). Caveat emptor! The second floor is brightly decorated. Large room overlooking the street (again contra other reviews we had no excess noise despite it being Graduation season and early, but quiet, delivery trucks) good facilities but certainly not the usual sterile hotel environment. Heavily frosted door to toilet cubicle is fine (unless you have visitors to your room I suppose). One minor complaint the air conditioning struggled with the hottest days in the uk for 7 years. Staff attempted to fix and then provided a more than adequate fan to supplement.
Bar is deliberately 'upscale' with prices to match, there are plenty of locations nearby if that is not to your taste or budget. One item that might take some by surprise is the unisex bathroom.
Longer term car parking in Brighton is pricey and hotel has limited parking but offers an arrangement with the local NCP for a discount.
Ideal central location for any event at the Dome or other central locations which are easily walkable

This is a thoroughly modern hotel that feels like stepping in the future when you walk through the door. The decor is beautiful throughout. I stayed here summer 2012 with my daughter (age 5) and we loved every minute. The hotel couldn't be in a better location. The food was good, staff friendly and everything spotlessly clean. The only fault I could find was our room was quite small with not much space for hanging clothes, probably because we had one of the cheapest rooms. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Spend a bit more and get one of the best rooms. Cheap rooms are still very good though.

We decided to spend a day in Brighton last minute and was drawn to this hotel as the pictures look amazing. We paid £160.00 for a standard room without breakfast.
When we arrived we were really excited to see the room as the lobby and bar area looked very modern and looked like our sort of place. When we entered the room we were so disappointed, the rooms are very basic and look unfinished. The décor was a real shame as in the pictures the rooms look really colourful and bright but in reality they are dull, its just the shower and the bed throw which has any colour, the rest of the room is white and empty like a travel lodge. .... I feel sorry for the interior designer who did this hotel as they clearly got off to a great start with the lobby and gave up and turned to drink when it came to the rooms.

The hotel was not worth £160.00 by a long way, we would have given the hotel a great review if the hotel was £80- £119 but for £160.00 its criminal.

The staff were nice and the check in and check out process was quick and convenient.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone until the price is reduced as I understand hotels in Brighton are expensive but this is just silly.

I love the My Hotel. It is perfecto.y situated in a trendy area of Brighton with lots of boutiques, cafes and bars near by. the rooms are ultra modern. Ours was pink and purple! The hotel has a busy bar and restaurant.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay here. The staff were very helpful and polite (maybe a little OTT but can't really complain about that!) the hotel is very funky, clean and tidy. Tea, coffee and kettle for morning, fully stocked bar (didn't use) and comfortable bed with air con. Views are not great but it's in the centre if Brighton, what do you expect! Walking distance to many places - we didn't eat or drink in the hotel so can't comment but we would definitely go back. Don't see the point in making reviews like 'there was a mark on the sink'... Who cares! It worked and we used it for a few minutes. Cleanliness, customer service and location could not be faulted. ('Blue' superior double, £120) parking also supplied at charge of £15 during your stay meaning safe in the knowledge your car was secure! Decor & fish tanks a brilliant twist and made much more enjoyable than our usual travel lodge stay!!

We've been here several times and love it. Can see no reason to stay anywhere else in Brighton, its contemporary, cool and the cocktails are fab. Everything you could want is in the room, its extremely clean and white & bright with splashes of coloured glass. Rooms are glassy, bright and airy - we love it and will be back. Thanks My Hotel - You (Brighton) Rock!

Well... Overall we were pleased with our stay here! We have been coming here every year for 3 years now for a break. Between us we have a number of businesses and being self employed it's rare we get time to stop - for this reason we like to book somewhere a little more luxurious as we tend to spend a lot of time in our room relaxing, napping and being lazy! MyHotel Brighton is the best place to do this! Air conditioned rooms, comfy bed, people watching seating, free wifi and central location!
We arrived a little before 9pm and managed to reserve parking which was a bonus - as spaces are limited. Word of caution to car park users - take it slow and steady as if like us, you have a large 4x4 as it is extremely tight in places! I went in to check in while my partner parked up. I was extremely worried when the desk clerk advised me that he couldn't find our room, especially after over hearing a conversation previously held between staff saying they are fully fully booked and cannot take any one else. He assured me it would be fine and to go down and get our bags and he would sort it - by the time we had the boot open he himself had already made it to the carpark with our room key and number :) I was very impressed and grateful for this as it meant we didn't have to go back and forth to check in!
We went up to our room - it should be worth mentioning at this point that as the intention of our stay was to chill out and relax we payed the top rate for a 'more superior' room as we thought "why not". I was a little sad and disappointed to see that the room we had paid extra for seemed no different and if not smaller than the rooms we had previously paid less for. So I am still unsure what we had paid the extra for. There was barely room to move around the bed (neither me or my partner are particularly narrow so this was plainly inconvenient!) and I also noticed one of the light fittings had been snapped off! The following day I questioned the size of the room and asked if we could swap to a bigger room (having seen the staff cleaning the room next door we could see it was bigger or just better arranged which would have been more convenient) but I was fobbed off by the man on the desk and told that despite the fact there were clearly other rooms available there was nothing he could do - however if we fancied paying an additional £120 a night we could upgrade to the penthouse - bit rude in my opinion, all we wanted was to swap. We stuck with awkward squeeze!
Despite this we did have a lovely stay - as usual everything was of a high standard and our room was straightened up everyday when we popped out. This hotel is always clean and comfortable and I would recommend it to friends for sure.
On the Sunday night we had late night cocktails in the bar with my sister. The server was very flamboyant and very impressive - a credit to this establishment. We had previously had a cocktail a few nights before somewhere else which we didn't know the name if but knew it had sweets in, we couldn't find anything similar on the extensive menu but described it to the charming man who made something up which he said would suit our tastes! He was so right! It was gorgeous! He called it a name drop... I've searched the Internet high and low and cannot find a recipe.... If the hotel reads this a response wi the recipe would be fab! All we know is it had fruit and 43 in it!

Despite not knowing what we paid extra for it was an enjoyable stay and we will probably be back next year :)
