“Amazing dessert”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

We popped in here without a reservation on a Sunday lunchtime and we were quite surprised at how quiet it was. Alas no room for us outside. We had 3 courses. The french onion soup was nice but rather sweet for me. My friend was less pleased with his mozarella salad and would have like something more traditional. Mains were very pleasant. I had chicken which was moist, but rather small. The mash, gravy, and thigh nugget was lovely. My friend enjoyed his pork roast. My dessert was the crowning glory! White chocolate cheesecake, with candied nuts, salted caramel and vanilla ice cream. It was splendid, but very rich! Service was a little slow, but quite friendly.

“Remarkable food for that special occasion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013 via mobile

Our second visit for lunch this year, and once again remarkable dishes in a delightful environment. We ordered fish on both occasions, and were pleased with the freshness. The desserts were especially good, with an amazing combination of flavours. Service was excellent. Keep this place in view for special occasions.

“Something special”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

Just walked in off the street without a booking, and so glad we found this place. It's smart without being stuffy. The service is excellent, and the waiting staff extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Gressingham Duck served with a rhubarb sauce was delicious.

“Impressive first visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

Very much enjoyed our evening, good service, lovely food and ambiance. Will definitely return. Have been to many restaurants over the years, and I would put this up high on the list for it's quality of food and comfortable atmosphere, loved the quirky colonial interior.
